DROP
N’ SHOPS CONTINUED: Mark your calendar now for
the following dates and times so you can register your children for December 6,
13, and 20 from 10:30am-12:30pm. We are definitely “Santa’s Elves” for
your **kids ages 6 and up. We’ll occupy them with fun
activities while you shop or wrap gifts. Each Saturday will host a
different teacher and unique projects. Please send them with simple
snacks and spill-proof beverages. You’ll fa la la la la all the way
home!
**All 'Drop 'n Shop'
participants must be at least 6 years of age to be left in the building without
an adult. Ages 6-9 must have an adult fill out a waiver on that morning
to be left here in our care. Children under 6 must be supervised by the
attending caretaker. Children ages 10 and up are allowed to stay without
an adult or waiver according to library policy. Thank you for your
cooperation. Residents only, please, for
this very popular event.
We have advertised for
all three of these events in detail as of this article. Please register ASAP to avoid disappointment.
Details
for the third ‘Holiday Drop ‘n Shop’ on December 20 from 10:30am-12:30pm are as
follows: On the
third day of ‘Drop ‘n Shop’ my true love suggested to me... ‘Let’s celebrate the unsung heroes of the
season’! This week we will be honoring
the heroes of Christmas delivery – why, the reindeer, of course! Join us for some reindeer gingerbread men
decorating, a movie and a craft!
If you or your child would like to see a sample of
the Saturday crafts, please drop by the library and see the projects for each
week displayed in advance. Stay tuned
here each week as we keep you informed as to each Saturday event’s details.
TECH
TUTORIALS: Do you
still have that tech gadget the kids got you last year that you wish you knew
how to put free library books on it to borrow?
We have a solution! Register with
Kathy Watson for a 30 minute lesson on how to make that gadget work for
you. This is a private basic tutorial
designed for learning how to connect to our library ebooks/audiobooks and is generally
limited to 30 minutes. Your device must
be compatible with Overdrive (iPad, most ereaders, and most tablets). We can help you figure out if your ‘toy’ will
work with us. J
Also available is some very basic computer
instruction. This is for beginners only
- email, basic surfing, setting up Facebook, creating a document, etc. If you have questions you can ask for Kathy
Watson at 603.362.5234. (Kimball Library
resident card holders only, please, for tech lessons.)
