Kimball Library News 9/29/14

Due to popularity we have added an additional ‘Wiggle Words’ to our list of fun things to do.  Wiggle Words for children ages 2-5 is so overbooked that we now are offering it on FIRST THURSDAYS AT 1PM or THIRD THURSDAYS AT 10:30am.   Please register for your preferred time each month (NOT both).  *Hint: The morning class is generally full, so I strongly recommend that you try for the afternoon class.  The next available PM class is November 6 at 1pm.  Please respect our age restrictions.
The Great Stone Face Book Club is onto the next book and we are looking for more readers.  Join us every THIRD Thursday of each month from 4:30-5:30pm to discuss a nominated Great Stone Face book. Thoughtful discussion and snacks will be provided. This book group is for children in grades 3-5 only. Please ask for a copy of the current book at the children’s desk and register with your intent to participate.

On October 16th at 4:30pm, the book of the month is ‘The Tell-tale Start’ by Gordon McAlpine.  With a mix of literary humor, mystery, a little quantum physics, and fun extras like fortune cookie messages, letters in code, license plate clues – and playful illustrations throughout – this series opener is a perfect choice for smart, funny tweens. Sign up your smart, funny tween today!

Got any hungry budding chefs in grades 3-5?  ‘Let’s Cook Tonight!’ is a sweet time for all.  This is the perfect time to enjoy good flavors, great smells and fun food! Each class (October through November) is independent and requires registration. Please watch our calendar for the November class, so you can enjoy that one with us too!

October “Let’s Cook”: Look What We Can Do With Apples!' Come make apple and cheese quesadillas, apple Faces, and apple pie. Be prepared to enjoy dinner here after you prepare it!  Sound yummy?  Sign up and see!

LIBRARY CLOSED: The library will be closed on Monday, October 13, in honor of Columbus Day observed.  Please stock up accordingly.
