SACK SUPPER CINEMA: THE JUNGLE BOOK on Friday,
September 9th, @5pm (Register All): Join us for movie night at the
library. The feature film is THE JUNGLE
BOOK in 3D.
2016′s The Jungle Book is a modern retelling of the Disney
classic, featuring updated computer animation and stunning new effects. The
story centers on a young boy named Mowgli and his life being raised in the
jungle by various jungle animals, including a bear, panther, and wolves. With a
star-studded cast and the latest in graphics effects, The Jungle Book is a
coming of age story telling the trials and tribulations that young Mowgli goes
through as he learns his place in the world, among animals who look very
different from him and act very differently from how he acts as well.
Running Time 1 hr. 51 min. The film is rated PG. Popcorn will be served to our guests. The
movie will begin at 5:00 PM. You are welcome to bring a paper bag supper or
movie treats to enjoy. Water bottles are encouraged. Non-residents are
welcome. NOTE: Children under the age of
10 may not be left unattended.
AUTHOR
& ANIMAL ADVOCATE, DAVID ROSENFELT: Join us September 15th
to hear best-selling author, humorist, and dog rescuer, David Rosenfelt. David
will speak about his latest work and how he came to be an animal
advocate. He has written over 25 novels including the highly successful
Andy Carpenter Mystery series of which the newest release is called Outfoxed.
Some of his recent stand-alone mystery novels includes: Airtight, Without
Warning and Blackout and his ever popular non-fiction hits include: Dogtripping,
Puppies Express and Lessons from Tara.
David Rosenfelt is an engaging speaker as well and you don't
want to miss your chance to meet him. Books will be available for
purchase. In addition there will be two
raffles (1) a chance to win some signed David Rosenfelt books from his Andy
Carpenter Series and (2) a chance to win your name as a character in a future
David Rosenfelt novel. All raffle
proceeds as well a portion of the proceeds from the book sales will be donated
to the Salem Animal Rescue League.
This event requires registration.
There will be an afternoon (3:00 – 4:30) and evening (6:30 – 8:00) presentation
so please choose when registering which session you plan to attend.

Tech THIS out! If you have an e-reader
or gadget that you want to learn how to use with free downloadable books, then
we can help you. You can have a brief
lesson here called “Turn it On!” on your tech toy (Kindle, iPad, iPod, cell
phone or other device compatible with Overdrive) and learn how to put a free
library e-book on it. This is a basic
tutorial for newbies.
Please register for an appointment. Available time slots are on the online
calendar link right on our website at www.kimballlibrary.com. Got questions regarding what you should
bring? Ask for Kathy Watson (tech toy
technician) at (603) 362-5234. (These
tutorials are for resident card holders in good standing only, please.)
Brief tutorials are also available for basic computer
instructions such as setting up email, social media, etc. When you register for a lesson please
indicate your need. If you can’t find a
slot that suits you then email kwatson@kimballibrary.com and Kathy will attempt
to give you a unique appointment time.
