BOOK SALE: The semi-annual sale is on September 15th, 8 AM – 3 PM. A large selection of fiction and non-fiction books will be available as well as DVDs, audio books, and music. Most books are $2.00 or less.  The best part is that all proceeds go to adult and children’s programs offered throughout the year at the Kimball Library and is hosted by our amazing Friends of Kimball Library.  Come early for the best selection and the baked goods!  (The library is open for library business the normal Saturday hours 10-3.)

Sad you’ll miss the sale? Check out the leftover books at a discount on Monday, September 17th, from 10 until 6 or until supplies last.

ANGLING IN THE SMILE OF THE GREAT SPIRIT: Thursday Sept. 20th 6:30 PM. Anyone who ever posted a Gone Fishin' sign on the door during business hours will appreciate this native fisherman's glimpse into the habits, rituals, and lore of some of the more colorful members of the not-so-exclusive 'Liars' Club.' Hal Lyon, an award winner in film and television festivals and author of 7 books and more than 150 articles, will share tales, secrets, folklore, and history of fishing in New Hampshire's big lakes, especially Lake Winnipesaukee which translates into 'Smile of the Great Spirit.'

To help us plan accordingly registration is requested.  Open to the public, this program is made possible by a grant from New Hampshire Humanities and sponsored by Atkinson Recreation. For more information on New Hampshire Humanities visit www.nhhumanities.org

GWC: Girls Who Code is a nonprofit organization that teaches girls computer science and programming concepts. Kimball Girls Who Code Club is being run by certified Girls Who Code instructor Pam Livingston and being assisted by Kathy Watson.

The program will take place here at the library Wednesdays promptly at 6:30 and getting out at 7:45. It does not cost anything to participate. The club will take place 3 times a month until the end of May with some additional weeks off--especially vacation weeks, meeting room conflicts, and the first Wednesdays will never be a week we meet. The expectation is that you will come unless you are ill or out of town. The lessons build weekly and to 'pass' you need to attend 80% of the meetings.

Questions? Contact Kathy Watson at kwatson@kimballlibrary.com Please be prepared to bring a laptop or have it dropped off for you. (We do have several to loan but having your own is a BIG plus.) This event is for girls in grades 5-12 only. Mature 5th graders, only, please.

Residents have preference. Email Kathy Watson to discuss your participation if you are not a Timberlane Regional School District student.  We generally do not take new participants after November.
