Money Smart Week runs from March 30 through April 6th. Money Smart Week® is a public awareness campaign designed to help consumers better manage their personal finances.
CUT THE CABLE IGNITE SE$$ION: Dish, Xfinity TV, DirecTV Now, Sling TV, YouTube TV, Sony PlayStation VUE and Hulu with Live TV … is your head spinning yet? Do you just want to throw up your arms and go with a rabbit ear antenna? Well, you’re not alone. Join us for a panel session with a number of savvy Atkinson residents who took the initiative and cut their cable cord.
Be here as Jennifer Silva, Wendy Barker, and Dena Fleno show you with mini presentations how to make this happen in your own home. They will highlight their previous cable set up and the changes they made. They will share the monetary savings they found following the switch. They will discuss the pros and cons such as channels they have gained or lost. There will be time for Q&A to ask specifics after each speaker has shown you her methods. This program is great for anyone considering cutting the cord as well as anyone who has already made the switch and would like to join in the discussion.

About the presenter: David Shuker is a financial advisor working out of Nashua, New Hampshire, with a total of 25 years in the industry. Shuker is currently employed by Pfs Investments Inc. Over the course of his career, Shuker has held roles at Primerica Financial Services, Sch Admins Unit #55 (T. Rgnl. Sch Sys) and Pfs Investments Inc. Shuker has Series 63 and Series 65 licenses, certifying them as both a securities agent and an investment advisor representative, and is approved to advise clients in New Hampshire.
MEET THE AUTHOR, JOHN L. CARTIER: Meet the Author of ‘An Awesome Life of an Ordinary Man: A Life Sprinkled with Miracles’ on Monday, April 8th, at 6:30 PM. Join us to hear John L. Cartier who, following retirement at the age of 80, decided to write an inspirational autobiography. John will discuss how, after surviving colon cancer in 1999 and cancer of the larynx in 2016, while recovering, he wrote his book. He will discuss strategies he used to both write and publish his autobiography. There will be plenty of time for Q&A's and he will have copies of his book available for sale and to sign following his presentation.
John L Cartier started working at the age of nine as a paper boy. He joined the Navy at age nineteen, married his high school sweetheart at the age of twenty, and was the father of five by age twenty-nine. When John was stricken with throat cancer in early 2016 at the age of eighty-four, he decided to write about his journey and the people and events that touched and changed his life. John lives in Haverhill MA, with Laura, his wife of sixty-five years. They are surrounded by their children, their fourteen grandchildren, their fifteen great grandchildren and their many friends.
