Think SPRING!
TERRARIUM
WORKSHOP: Join us as we bring SPRING indoors early by learning
how to make a terrarium with one of our favorite talented teachers, Felicia
Motherway. You will be pleased with your
mobile garden by the end of the evening.
This workshop is being offered on Thursday, March 26th from
6:00 to 8:00 PM.
A terrarium is a
miniature garden under glass that is fun and easy to grow. Create your garden
with easy-care plants, moss, gemstones, shells and tiny woodland creatures. The
workshop includes all supplies: Large glass container, plants, and supplies.
There is a materials fee of $30.00 (cash or check) due upon registration.
Please call for more
information at 603-362-5234.
Registration is not taken over the phone. All those interested must register at the
main circulation desk during regular library hours. *Registration is
non-refundable and is due at time of registration. Cash or checks should be
made out to Felicia Motherway. Sign up
soon as class size is limited.
LIBRARY
BUDDIES: “Library
Buddies” is one of the events that has been bursting at the seams even when we
were in the ‘old’ building! We are proud
to be the trend setters of this in the area. This crowd-pleasing event will be
happening for 7 consecutive weeks on Thursdays from 3:30-4:30pm beginning March
12th and ending on April 23rd. Each week teens (youth in grades 6-12) will be
assigned to little buddies (kindergarten age through grade 3). Library buddies will read or be read to for
the first 30 minutes followed by STEM challenges, puzzles, games, and/or
coloring activities. This is a great
opportunity for the younger set to practice listening to books of their choice
or for emerging readers to try out their skills on an older buddy.
Need a
buddy? Want to be a buddy? You may
register your little buddy online on the children’s calendar, call us and ask
for the Children’s Room (603) 362-5234 x224, or drop in and personally speak to
Kathy Watson, Youth Services Director.
All interested big buddies must speak with Kathy directly and be
committed to an early arrival time (3:15 PM).
Due to the
high demand for this program, all little buddies must be registered and
committed for all seven weeks. New this year is the start time enabling us you
to allow your child to take the bus directly from school. Waivers must be signed for children under 10
before they are allowed to participate this way. The library does not take responsibility for
the transportation—you must make arrangements in advance with pick-up patrol
and the bus company. Parents DO say they
love that their children can come here on their own and they just have to pick
them up. Check this service out!
LET’S COOK TONIGHT: Tweens in grades 3-7 can
don their chef hats and cook up some Chinese food with Chef Birr! This month this popular class will take place
on Thursday, March 26, 2020 from 6:00 to 7:15 PM. Come with a positive ‘I can’
attitude and come hungry! Registration
is required for supplies. Please do so
no later than 3/25/2020.
UPCOMING TUESDAY MOVIES: Join us at 1:00 PM on
3/3 ‘Parasite’, 3/10 ‘Harriet’, 3/17 ‘Richard Jewell’, 3/24 ‘1917’, and on 3/31
for ‘Midway’. Movies are subject to
change. Check the website for the
latest information. Popcorn will be
served. Seating is first come, first
served. Please plan accordingly.
