NH BOATING SAFETY COURSES 2025

NH Boating Safety Courses will be held at the Kimball Library on the following dates: *February 4th and 6th, March 4th and March 6th, April 1st and April 3rd, May 6th and May 8th.

The New Hampshire Classroom Course covers a variety of topics including boat navigation, boating safety equipment, invasive aquatic species, and laws and rules. This instructor-led class incorporates a range of learning methods consisting of lecture, videos, and student discussion. *Individuals must attend both paired evening classes. Each class meets from 6 – 9:30 PM.

Certification Cards: Upon successful completion of the course, students will leave with a boating certificate which is valid for 45 days. The permanent certificate card will be mailed to the address entered at the time of registration.

Who Needs Boating Education?: Everyone 16 years of age and older who operates a motorboat with over 25 horsepower on New Hampshire waters must have a valid boating education certificate.

Age Requirements: Students may register and take the course at 15 years old, although a boating education certificate will not be issued until their 16th birthday.

Special Accommodations: Individuals with disabilities may request reasonable accommodations by contacting the New Hampshire Marine Patrol at (603) 293-2037, option #1. Please allow a minimum of 30 days advance notice for the department to arrange a course and requested accommodations. FINDING YOUR ITALIAN ANCESTORS AND THE INS AND OUTS TO OBTAINING ITALIAN DUAL CITIZENSHIP: Thursday, January 30th at 6 PM

This presentation is designed for those just starting their Italian genealogical research or are interested in obtaining Italian Dual Citizenship. Lucia Cusimano will provide tips and resources to help with the process. Registration is required for this 90-minute presentation.

About the presenter: Lucia Cusimano holds a Certificate in Genealogical Studies from Boston University. She completed the 2020/2021 ProGen Study Group, an intensive fourteen-month study of Professional Genealogy, and has attended several genealogical institutes, conferences, and webinars focusing on traditional and Italian research. She is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG), The New England Chapter (NEAPG), and several local and Italian genealogical groups. She is Curator at the Atkinson Historical Society.

A WWII veteran escapes his care home in Northern Ireland and embarks on an arduous but inspirational journey to France to attend the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings and finds the courage to face the ghosts of his past. Rating: PG-13 Runtime: 95 minutes
