‘BUILD A
BETTER WORLD’ SUMMER READING MADE EASY: It cannot be any less hassle free
for children and parents to get on board with the ‘Build a Better World’ summer
reading program for youth entering grades K-5!
1. We’re counting each time you check out materials when you visit. Put
your name and phone number on the ticket and drop it in the jar. Names will be chosen weekly for prizes! 2. You will get a sticker to put on your
world that will be displayed in the library. For every 5 stickers (visits with
check-outs), you are able to pick a prize or a book! 3. Kids entering grade 5 register for the
youth program, but may also register and attend any events listed for their age
group in the t/ween program.
Do you have preschool children not entering kindergarten
yet? We have simple summer bingo cards
and they can color in a space when they listen to a book by a certain author,
go the park, or other simple literacy activities. They, too, can choose a book
or a prize when they reach a BINGO on their card. It’s easy to keep everyone interested in
reading over the summer as to not lose any gains they made during the academic
year. Research does show that staying
vested in literature over the summer will give a stronger start in the fall.
KIMBALL COURTYARD

Yo-Yo People on June 27th, and Stoney’s Wicked Din on June 29th. Bring a blanket or lawn chair, or enjoy the

the weather does not cooperate we hold them inside or at another location. Fingers crossed!
