We have plenty of virtual events going on to choose from, and we are reminding you that you can browse now in person, use the computers, read the newspaper, etc. We have missed your masked faces. Please stop by. We still, however, have Take Out Service available for those for are on the run or prefer to keep their distance way beyond six feet. Either way, we’ve got you covered!
TEEN NIGHT IN: Jump into our 3rd Teen Night In: a virtual party with teens across NH on Friday, February 26th from 6-8 PM. There will be food, games, crafts, and party vibes.
THIS MONTH: We're hosting a costume contest! Come to our party dressed as your favorite book character (or any character) using items that you have at your house.
Register online on the event calendar or call (603) 362-5234 to pick up your GOODY BAG! It will include food and craft supplies so you can work on your craft ahead of time and show off the final product at the party.
Email staff@kimballlibrary.com (Attn: Youth Department) with any questions.
T/WEEN BOOK CLUB: The March book selection is ‘It's Trevor Noah : born a crime : stories from a South African childhood ; adapted for young readers’. Our club will meet at 6:30 on March 3rd. Books are available for walk-ins or pick-up at the Take-Out table.
The host of The Daily Show, Trevor Noah, shares his personal story and the injustices he faced while growing up half black, half white in South Africa under and after Apartheid in this New York Times bestselling young readers' adaptation of his adult memoir.
Please check with us. During these uncertain times it varies if we are in person or via Zoom. We will send a Zoom link the day of the event if we are meeting virtually. Even if we are meeting in person we can Zoom you in.
CARE TO SHARE FOODIES: Now is the chance for young chefs to strut their stuff to other young foodies. This first ever virtual 'Care to Share' is an opportunity to demonstrate 'live' via Zoom how to make a quick recipe. The only restrictions are time--demonstrations are limited to 10 minutes max. The sky is the limit! From specialty grilled cheese, to microwaved mug cakes, to 7-layer dip, to breakfast food, to smoothies and more! Other teens and tweens will watch and learn while you show off your creation. If what you want to demonstrate is something that takes longer than 10 minutes, just pre-make or prebake the first part of your recipe and we can watch the final touches. This is a great way for t/weens to practice their skills and for other t/weens to grab some new recipe ideas!
Register ASAP and let us know what you 'care to share' on this fun night, Tuesday, Feb 23rd at 6:00 PM This event is for tweens and teens only ages 10+. (Of course, parents are allowed to lurk and 'assist' t/weens if needed.)
GET YOUR GAME ON: Youth in grades 1-5 can jump on Zoom for some fun party games like Minute to Win It, Charades, and Simon Says! Lively and silly competitive fun is the way to get the wiggles and giggles out!
For our Minute to Win It games, please have these items on hand: a cookie, 4 apples, coins (20 or so), a spoon, cotton balls or marshmallows, and 2 small bowls.
Register for this fun night happening on Wednesday, Feb 24th, at 6:00 PM.
