We are excited to offer up some new youth events for the Timberlane School District vacation week. Have a peek and sign up the kids!
SPECIAL LOVE BUGS: Today's the day to make a good bug and eat it! Come on kids, be brave and have some fun. Sign up now and we'll make sure you get your own bugs to make and taste. Yippeeeee! We know you'll like them.
This special story event is on Zoom on Tuesday, February 23rd at 10:30 AM. Kids have opportunity to make the edible crafts and we will offer you the supplies. Parents, please call the Library when you are on your way to pick up. Bags will be left on the 'Take Out' table with your child's first name. Pick up dates are Feb 17-22 during our open hours.
CARE TO SHARE FOODIES: Now is the chance for young chefs to strut their stuff to other young foodies. This first ever virtual 'Care to Share' is an opportunity to demonstrate 'live' via Zoom how to make a quick recipe. The only restrictions are time--demonstrations are limited to 10 minutes max. The sky is the limit! From specialty grilled cheese, to microwaved mug cakes, to 7-layer dip, to breakfast food, to smoothies and more! Other teens and tweens will watch and learn while you show off your creation. If what you want to demonstrate something that takes longer than 10 minutes, just pre-make or prebake the first part of your recipe and we can watch the final touches. This is a great way for t/weens to practice their skills and for other t/weens to grab some new recipe ideas!
Register ASAP and let us know what you 'care to share' on this fun night, Tuesday, Feb 23rd at 6:00 PM This event is for tweens and teens only ages 10+. (Of course, parents are allowed to lurk and 'assist' t/weens if needed.)
GET YOUR GAME ON: Youth in grades 1-5 can jump on Zoom for some fun party games like Minute to Win It, Charades, and Simon Says! Lively and silly competitive fun is the way to get the wiggles and giggles out!
For our Minute to Win It games, please have these items on hand: a cookie, 4 apples, coins (20 or so), a spoon, cotton balls or marshmallows, and 2 small bowls.
Register for this fun night happening on Wednesday, Feb 24th, at 6:00 PM.
BIRD FEEDER CRAFT KITS: Register your 'littles' to receive a custom craft kit with instructions. AS A BONUS, Mrs. Birr on February 25th at 2:30 PM will demonstrate how to make them. (This will be posted on our YouTube Channel as well as Facebook.) This unique kit ties in with the adult 'The Joys of Winter Bird Feeding' program that is also offered that very evening over zoom at 6:30 PM. 😊
IMPORTANT: Register ASAP to give us time to make the kits, and they can be picked up anytime we are open from 2/22-2/25 if you call ahead and let us know you are on your way.
