We can only take cash or checks payable to Friends of Kimball Library for the baskets. Thank you for understanding.

iROOT KIDS CODE: A robot that does incredible things.

Children can code their Root® robot to draw artwork, play music, respond to touch, light, and sound, and more, all while exploring the fundamentals of robotics.

No matter your family’s experience with coding or robotics, the innovative, free iRobot® Coding platform makes coding easy with 3 Learning Levels. Begin with graphical, drag-and-drop code before advancing to hybrid code and finally, full-text code.

Typically, it costs $200 to send one child to a coding camp for 6 weeks. Due to donations and sponsorship from The Friends of Kimball Library, this program is available for $40 per child.

Registration is required in person and is complete when the fee is paid. Unattended classes are not refunded. Cash or check only payable to Friends of Kimball Library.

Class will take place at the library on Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 from October 13 to November 17. Children may take the bus from Atkinson Academy to the library if parents make arrangements with pick-up patrol. (The library is not taking responsibility for the transportation, we are only letting you know that there is a bus that stops here.) Please pack them a snack that they can have before 3:30.

This class is hosted by Gail Ramsay (Code & Circuit) and Kathy Watson (Kimball Library) who have brought other coding experiences to the Library including BlueBots and Coding Jam with Osmo. The class is developmentally designed with the age groupings in mind.

Class size is limited to 8, and masks and social distancing are required. Kimball Library card holders have preference.

iRoot robots were generously donated by the Atkinson Women's Civic Club. We couldn’t be more thrilled!
