Kimball Library News 7/16/18

And in a blink of an eye—WHOOSH—there go the summer reading prizes!
The last day to submit raffle tickets is August 1, so step up your game and come in and come often.  Savvy youth know that mathematically, odds of winning prizes increase the more often you enter.  GAME ON!

SWEET SOUNDS ROCK: Join us for a celebratory ice cream social for the summer reading participants and guests as well as  bonus sweet summer sounds from the NH Recorder Consort coming up on Monday, July 30th, starting at 6:30 PM.

Summer reading participants will have first dibs on the sundae line before the music begins, and then other guests are welcome to join them.  After you make your sundae you’ll have the opportunity to sit in the courtyard while hearing the NH Recorder Consort play and learn a little about the recorder as an instrument.  If the concert is outside we recommend bringing blankets to sit on or beach chairs unless you prefer our stadium seating. In case of inclement weather the concert will be held inside the meeting room.

Please register all ages planning to attend so we have enough ice cream and toppings! Congratulations to all our summer readers in advance.  Thank you, Friends of Kimball Library and the NH Recorder Consort, for providing us with sweet treats and music!

MAGIC FOR THE NON-BELIEVER WITH PETER BOIE: 60 minutes of belief-challenging, wonderment-enhancing, imagination-inducing, harmonica-appearing, reality-altering, destiny-predicting, ghost-contacting magic show that will make you gasp in awe, laugh 'til it hurts and inspire your imagination. Belief Optional. REGISTER ALL AGES for this amazing event taking place in the Courtyard on Wednesday, August 1 at 6:30 PM.  This will be held at Atkinson Academy if we have inclement weather.

About the magician: Peter first became fascinated with magic at the age of eleven when he stumbled across a magic book at his local library.  He now travels around the country performing his award winning magic that will defy your reality.  Peter's show is about two things, astonishing magic, and having a good time; and he doesn't skimp on either.  Combining original mind blowing magic, and a heavy dose of humor is his secret to success and why it’s made him one of the top booked college acts around the country.
Peter recently showcased his talents on national TV, where he performed for the CW Network's hit show, Penn & Teller Fool Us.  He was also nominated for "Entertainer of the Year 2015" from Campus Activities Magazine.  Other nominations include ‘Best Variety Performer’ (2010,2011,2012, 2013), ‘Fastest Rising Star’ (2010 & 2012) and ‘Best Male Performer’ (2011 & 2012).

He has performed for such celebrities as legendary musician Neil Young, quarterback Tom Brady and the Patriots football team and ownership.

MAGIC ROCKS WORKSHOP: Peter Boie, the magician for non-believers, teaches simple magic tricks to help increase confidence and improve communication skills. This is an hour long, hands on workshop...plus, it's just fun to fool your friends and family with your newfound magical knowledge.

Be ONE with the DRUM!

TAIKO ROCKS!
