Kimball Library News 7/9/18

Have you ever wondered about the popularity of books such as ‘Captain Underpants’ and ‘Walter the Farting Dog’? Apparently, poop rocks!  If you like things that are gross, you think potty jokes are funny, or are just curious about something that other people don't like to talk about, you're going to love this program!  Youth entering grades K-5 are invited to literally explore the fascinating world of excrement.  Not for the faint hearted... this evening (July 19 at 6:30 PM) is going to be all about POOP!
Bring a nose clip if you have a sensitive sense of smell because we will have some REAL samples to view, identify and compare (but not touch- EWWW!)  We'll learn about the biological processes of digestion and excrement as well as learn some interesting facts about species that use their poop in useful or different ways.  Register ASAP, you know you wanna!

AUSTRALIA ROCKS: ‘ROCK' down under in Australia! There's plenty to do with stories, crafts, and food.  Try your hand at dot painting and see what you create. Munch our samples of fairy bread while you're here. It's so delicious that you'll want to go home and make it yourself!

Register those entering grades K-5 to rock with us Aussies on Monday, July 23rd, at 6:30 PM.

STRONG BY ZUMBA: Calling all fearless teens and tweens to a fitness class where you will use no equipment- just your own body- to build strength, agility and determination. This is not your grandmother’s group exercise! STRONG by Zumba® will have you running, plank jumping, elbow striking and cardio boxing. Every squat, every lunge, every burpee is driven by the music, making it a challenging but FUN work out as well.

Join us as we rise to the STRONG challenge and see what we can accomplish. Modifications available for all difficult moves. We guarantee you will be proud of the things you attempted! Bring a friend and/or a bottle of water and go home with fitness bragging rights at your dinner table.

Michelle Collins is certified in 'STRONG' by Zumba.  Are you up for the challenge?  We know you can do it!  Register t/weens for Tuesday, July 24, at 6:30 PM. Parents of teens and tweens are invited to register with them (if they dare).

TURTLES ROCK: The younger learners will love this energetic and lively showcase of three different types of turtles. Learn about what makes these guys such wonderful creatures on July 25 at 6:30 PM.
A box turtle, a Blanding's turtle (native and endangered here in NH) and a tortoise will all be waiting to meet you!  Register all ages but please note that this is most developmentally appropriate for kids ages 3 to 9.  For more information see http://projectnature.org/wild-about-turtles

THE BEL AIRS CONCERT: The Bel Airs perform Doo Wop and 50-60's Vintage Rock 'N' Roll, with elegant five part harmonies and stereophonic instrumental arrangements. Their music takes you on a romantic journey back to classic cars, sweet sixteen girls wearing saddle shoes, bobby socks and poodle skirts. The Bel Airs were ranked #1 on the ReverbNation Music Charts for 2013, 2014 & 2015.  They were awarded '2013 Readers Choice Award' by The New Hampshire Union Leader and 'Best of NH 2012' by New Hampshire Magazine.  They have been featured on 'New Hampshire Chronicle' WMUR TV Channel 9 and perform at concerts and Town and County Fairs all over New England. TUNE IN and join us on July 26, from 6-8 in the Courtyard for this rocking show.  Join us inside if the weather is uncooperative.
