concerts in the courtyard! Registration can
happen in person, online on the website calendar, or over the phone.
BOOKS AND
BLOSSOMS SUMMER CAMP: This is a camp for tweens and teens to learn
basic floral design from 6:30-7:45 PM from Monday, August 6 through Friday,
August 10. If you register your youth, they must be committed to all five
evenings unless you get an exception in advance. Each night they'll learn
something new about design and get to practice.
Take a peek at the schedule below.
Monday: Choose a book and practice floral fundamentals. Tuesday: Practice two designs. Wednesday:
Practice two designs. Thursday: Students choice of design learned. Friday: Judges talk to students, give
certificates, take photos, public view (flower show). Saturday: Public view 10-3 for flower show. Participants do not have to be present on
Saturday.
Registration is essential.
Interested youth should be ages 10 and up or at least entering grade
five in the fall. Please do register as
soon as possible as we need a minimum number of students to make this camp
work.

CRAZY 8’S
SUMMER CAMP: Crazy 8s is a recreational math program that
helps kids enjoy the math behind their favorite activities! With Crazy 8s, kids
will build glow-in-the-dark structures, crack secret spy codes and play games
like Toilet Paper Olympics.
Would you like your children (grades 1-4) to enjoy math more
and to see that it has a purpose in our everyday life? Have them join us as we
move through 8 math based activities in REALLY fun ways! This fun filled camp
will run for five consecutive days from 4:00 to 5:30 PM from August 6-10.
Registrants are expected to attend all five sessions.
Waivers will be required for all students participating. Drop
off is at 4:00 sharp and pick up at 5:30. Thank you for being prompt. :) Limited spots available- sign up today!
Please note we will need a minimum of eight sign ups in order
to run this program. We will contact you in the event of cancellation.
VOLARE
JAZZ BAND: Join us as we welcome the ‘Volare Jazz Band’ into our
beautiful acoustically sweet courtyard on Thursday, August 2nd, from
6:00 to 8:00 PM. This talented group of musicians are from the Timberlane
Community Band. They perform a repertoire of big band tunes from yesterday and
today with a modern, jazzy, swinging edge.
All ages can enjoy the great music!
As always we suggest that you bring a blanket or a lawn chair
as there is limited seating in the courtyard hillside. Watch the weather and our website
(kimballlibrary.com) for cancellations as this event will be cancelled due to
inclement weather. This jazzy event is sponsored by our wonderful Friends of
the Kimball Library.
