Kimball Library News 2/9/10

Just so you’ll know not ALL the fun programs are for kids, check this promotional advertisement out from library tech, Carol Scherer. “Do you have some photos you’d like to sort, organize, or put in a simple photo album? Are you working on a bona-fide scrapbook but don’t schedule the time to finish it? Whether you are just sticking your toe in the world of scrapbooking, a “scissor happy” expert, or someone who would just like to organize those old shoe boxes filled with photos, come try our monthly scrapbooking group. Library tech Carol Scherer will be giving very basic instruction, ideas and tips in an open ended style. Scrapbooking suggestions welcome!! Come between 6:15 and 6:30pm to set up for this one hour session. Cleanup will begin at 7:30pm. A supply list will be available at front desk and on the website. The library will supply small portion of tools and decorations.” First class is Wednesday, February 24th, from 6:15-7:30pm.

More fun for grades 4-5 is to be had at Junior Book Club which meets from 4-5pm on the fourth Thursday of the month. Books are available in the Children’s Room, and there is still plenty of time to register and read for this month’s club on Thursday, February 25. The title selected is Music of Dolphins by Karen Hesse. Register online to join us for discussion and snacks.

And just in case you missed previous articles for fun programs for adults, please note that the ‘KnitWits’ meet every Tuesday from 10:30 to noon. Believe me, there is some real spinning of yarn going on in that room! Also, the ‘Keenagers’ meet on Fridays from 10:30-noon for some good-natured head-to-head competition in Wii Sports. I can testify personally that there is a lot of laughing going on in both of these groups. No registration is required—just drop in and make yourself part of the gang.
