GINGERBREAD THROWDOWN: Can you make the greatest gingerbread house of all time?

Bring your constructed house, decorating materials and your game face to the Zoom meeting on December 16th at 6:30 PM to see who will be crowned the Gingerbread Champion of our newest virtual family event. This could be a friendly annual competition and participation will determine it.

Gingerbread houses should have all basic construction done ahead of time, be freestanding, and the majority of materials must be edible. Other than these few restrictions, anything goes, so get creative!

All contestants will have 25 mins to decorate and/or add on structural pieces to their gingerbread house to make it festive and amazing. Librarians will judge each gingerbread house on creativity, quality of construction, and edibility (what percentage of materials used are edible).

All participants will be able to pick up a personalized certificate a day or two after the event, but only one participant will win the grand prize ($15 gift certificate to Beantowne).  Put your heads together as a family to begin your practice sessions now and don’t delay registration for this classic event.

READERS THEATER: Get your reading and drama practice ON! Reader’s Theater is a fun way to expand your reading and speaking skills. Join other children in grades 2-5 on Zoom Thursday, December 17th at 6:30 PM.

We have the plays and will email the script to you so you can practice your part or it can be available for pick-up. Register ASAP to get your Zoom link and a script will be prepared for you. Maybe this will be your start toward Broadway and the big world out there!
