Kimball Library News 9/14/10

Fall in love with an elephant? It’s National Elephant Appreciation Day on September 22! Stop in the Children’s Room between 3-4:30pm and make an elephant craft. Drop in anytime during that time frame, but the elephant supplies will disappear at 5pm. This program is recommended for ages 3-10 years. Please pre-register beginning September 7th in the Children's Room, call us at 362-5234 or online.

Fall into bargains! The Friends of the Library Fall ‘Book and Bake Sale’ is happening on Saturday, September 25. As is our custom, this is held in conjunction with the Town Wide Yard Sale from 8am-3pm. This is a great day to see friends from town and collect some items at an advantageous price as well. Bargain shoppers and browsers will enjoy a chance to look leisurely through our numerous sale books, bump into some familiar faces, and pick up some delectable goodies en route. Books will be individually priced as well as opportunities for ‘bargains by the bagful.’ Show your support by stopping by and stocking up. We have some nearly new books that would be great for Christmas.

Fall into some lovely décor for your home. We have just the workshop you need! Sign up now to make a beautiful rose hydrangea wreath with Felicia Motherway right here at the library on Thursday, October 7th, from 6:30-8:30pm. Enjoy learning some basic concepts of floral design by making a gorgeous, fragrant dried rose/hydrangea wreath. The 14' wreath is made with a lemon leaf base, hydrangea flowers, cranberry roses, mint, lavender and poppy pods. This will be the perfect complement to any room in your home! Please be aware that space is limited, and that it is necessary to sign up at the library. The cost is $30.00 for supplies, and you need to make checks payable to Felicia Motherway. You are not confirmed for the workshop until payment is received. Don’t miss out as our last class taught by Felicia Motherway was booked tightly and had a waitlist.
