Kimball Library News 8/21/12

Still got FALL fever? We do!

It’s time to FALL into a schedule and register preschool children for classes. We offer Mother Goose on the Loose for infants to age 2 on Mondays at 10:30am, Bitty Books for ages 2 and 3 on Tuesdays at 10:15am, and Kiddie Lit for ages 3-6 on Tuesdays at 11:30am and Thursdays at 10:15am. Register in advance for the fall classes which begin the week of September 10th.

It’s time to FALL back in line on Friday nights with the kids. Offering Friday night events for children is not new, but we are dishing up a new format. Check out “PJ Peeps” on Fridays from 7-7:30pm starting on September 14th. PJ peeps are welcome to come in pajamas and listen to several stories and get a goodnight snack. This is a story time for families and their young children capable of listening to three books. We are serving stories and a single snack. Please check our preschool classes if you are looking for an included craft and longer session. This is a drop-in event. Friends are welcome. :)

It’s time to FALL in love with children’s events. Try Saturday, September 15th, on for size at 10:15am for ‘Puppets & Music’. Come and meet Miss Gloria and Miss Laura from the Hazel Drive Early Childhood Center in Hampstead! We were entertained last year when they visited us and now they’re coming back with lots of songs to sing, puppets to meet and plenty of fun for everyone! Be sure to save the morning for this special visit geared toward children preschool age through 7 years old. Please register so we’ll know if we can count on you. :)

It’s time to FALL clean. Got books? We’ll take them off your hands in preparation for the ‘Fall Book, Bake, and Flea Sale’ that is around the corner on Saturday, September 29, from 8am-3pm. Please drop off your books, dvds, and audiobooks Monday-Friday 10-8 and Saturday 10-3 except during a holiday closing. NOTE the date change-the AWCC changed the date of the town sale and we apologize for any inconvenience.

It’s time to FALL down and apologize for missing one of our summer reading sponsors in a prior article. Major props to Market Basket in Plaistow, NH, as they provided us with a gift card so we could entertain a glowing group of American Girls and their dolls for a tea party. On that night, each girl who attended was able to put one free raffle ticket in the jar for a chance to win McKenna Brooks, a real American Girl dollWe have McKenna Brooks available until September 22nd when the winner’s name will be drawn after the Book & Bake Sale. Raffle tickets are 6 for $5 or $1 each. All proceeds go 'The Friends of the Library" who support many of our events. Come see McKenna in our lobby. Tickets are available. Please buy generously.

It’s time to plan ahead! We will be closed Labor Day weekend (Saturday, September 1 through Monday, September 3.) Two day loan items checked out on Thursday will not be due back until Tuesday, September 4. Take advantage of the extension and have a safe and happy holiday weekend.
