Kimball Library News 3/15/21

Do you have a picky eater? Are you looking for creative ways to get nutrients into your child? Are you tired of being in the kitchen 24 hours a day with the constant snacking and cooking a different meal for each family member?

If yes, then we have an answer you’ve been waiting for!

MISA’S CLEAN KITCHEN: Kids in the Kitchen with Misa is empowering kids with skills needed to create a lifetime of healthy eating.

This hands-on, interactive kids cooking series may be the perfect class for you and your child.  They will have fun developing important life skills in the kitchen while trying new foods, and expanding their tastes to appreciate real food so that they feel empowered with the skills needed to create healthy eating habits for a lifetime.

We will be making nutrient-dense, gluten-free recipes including pancakes for breakfast, muffins for a snack, healthy nuggets for a side, and a delicious dessert you can feel good about feeding your child.  All the recipes are made with whole food ingredients and free of processed sugar.

We have 4 classes coming up and you may register for one or all of them. Each registration is unique and each class is making a different dish. Please check our online calendar for registration links and details about ingredients and tools that you need for each class. You may participate in just one or all classes. They will all take place via Zoom on Tuesdays at 4:30 PM in your kitchen.

We’ll be making the following on these dates:  April 6 ‘Popeye’s Pancakes’, April 13 ‘The Hulk’s Muffins’, April 20 ‘Rainbow Fish Nuggets’ and May 6 ‘Cookie Monster Dip’.

Classes are geared towards preschool and elementary aged children. Registration is required.

GET THOSE GOALS: This workshop with Laura Klain will introduce a 7-Step approach to setting and meeting your goals. We will practice visualizing our goals as well via a guided meditation, which you will leave feeling energized and inspired. This exciting opportunity will take place via Zoom on Thursday, April 22, at 6:00 PM.

Laura Klain of Bud to Blossom Life Design presents mindfulness workshops and guided meditation groups. Laura is an experienced meditation instructor with years of studying spiritual and mindfulness practices. You do not have to have experience in meditation or a mindfulness practice to participate.

GET YOUR GAME ON: Join us on Zoom for some fun virtual games on Wednesday, March 31, at 6:00 PM with other children in grades two to six. We'll play charades, Simon Says, and Name that Tune. It’s friendly competition and a chance to meet up with friends all at the same time. Registration is required to receive the Zoom information.
