Kimball Library News 1/19/10

Shout for joy because the junior book club is back! Save one Thursday a month from 4-5pm if you are in 4th or 5th grade to meet with other kids to discuss the book of the month. On January 28th the discussion will be on “Absolutely Anastasia!” by Lois Lowry. Books can be picked up at the circulation desk in the children’s room. Bring a friend even if they didn’t read the book—we’ll have them hooked for next month!

Here is a shout out for all ‘KnitWits’ to gather at the library on Tuesdays, WEEKLY, from 10:30am-12:00pm in the Atkinson Room. “Hmmmmmm… Now where is that scarf I started for the groundhog last year?” Whether you are a beginner or an experienced knitter, come join the fun as we “KnitWits” learn together. Please bring your own supplies. This is an informal gathering to finish those unfinished projects or perhaps get some new ideas for beginning some new ones. We’ll cozy up in the Atkinson Room of the library, share some laughs, drop a stitch or two, and make some new friends. All experience levels and ages welcome. ‘KNITWITS’ IS STARTING: Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 10:30am. Come as often as you can, and leave when you must.

Are you shouting for spring under all this snow? The Friends of the Kimball Library are thinking really warm thoughts and encourage you to take part in the spring raffle opportunity right here at the library. Here is your chance to win a $100 GOLFER’S GIFT BASKET from the Atkinson Country Club, GOURMET DELECTABLES from the Hallmark Collection, or a SUGAR HILL SAMPLER from Sugar Hill, NH. The tickets are on sale in the library for $1 each or 7 for $5.00. You get to choose which prizes you are aiming for by putting your tickets directly in the container for the corresponding items. All proceeds are to benefit the Kimball Library. The drawing for prize winners will be on February 13, 2010. Take a chance that you’ll be shouting because you’re a spring winner!
