Kimball Library News 10/12/10

READ & FEED: The best kept secret in Atkinson is that there is a story time on Friday nights at the library from 6:30-7:15pm. Drop in on any Friday evening and enjoy several stories to be followed by a snack. Pajama-wearing kids ages 4-9 are welcome! Parents are invited to sit with non-experienced listeners or relax with a magazine, a newspaper, or to web surf. Take advantage of choosing your DVDs that won't be due back until Monday. Best of all, your little one will be 'read and fed' before bed!

KIDS COOKING: Did you miss session one? You can still take part in session two or three. ‘Kids Cooking’ is a series being offered on the second Wednesdays through December. We’ll be using simple seasonal recipes and working together. Each session requires individual registration so you can sign up for one or more of the classes. Have some fun cooking with us on November 10th, or December 8th from 4-5pm. Space is limited to grades 3-5 only.

NATIONAL GAMING DAY @ YOUR LIBRARY: This is the third annual ALA National Gaming Day and it will take place nationwide on Saturday, November 13th. Games will be in various locations throughout the library. Board games as well as Wii will be available. Please note that we are limiting participation in Wii to grades one through 5, and the second tier is grades 6-12. Please come for all or part of the day. You're also welcome to bring your own game from home in hopes that someone will want to play it with you. Bring friends or come make some new ones. Children’s games will take place in the Children’s Room, teen games will take place in the Meeting Room, and board games for multi-ages will take place in various other meeting rooms throughout the library. This will be happening between 10:30am and 2:30pm. Drop in, as there is something for everyone.
