There is STILL time to register for summer reading—but the clock is ticking! The last day to register for youth or teen reading is July 19th, and the last day to enter tickets for the teen raffle is July 31st. Please check out some of our great events coming up! Register for the program as a whole and for each event your child or teen is interested in. Most programs have age restrictions. Please register in the guidelines for each event.

Summer Reading Event—Monster Mash Party (Grades K-5)/Monday, July 16, 6:30-7:30pm: What kind of a creature are you? It's a Monster Mash Party so put on your favorite 'creepy' outfit and have a monster of a good time! Do the 'Monster Mash', watch a special monster movie, make an ugly head, and eat some creepy creature food! Registration for this event ends 7/13.

Hawke, the Reader Dog (Any age reader)/Wednesday, July 18, 1:00-2:00pm: Lady Hawke, our reading dog, visits us the 3rd Wednesday of each month. She loves to hear the children read to her! Hawke is a certified therapy dog with Therapy Dogs International and is very patient with the children. Hawke lives in Plaistow with her brother and sister labs. Come read to her and visit between 1 and 2pm. Note the time change from the spring.

Summer Reading Event—Constellation Station (Grades K-5)/Wednesday, July 18, 4:00-5:00pm: Have you ever wondered how to find the Big Dipper, the Little Dipper, or the North Star? Come join us for some for some great star-stories and constellation finding tips. Then make your own star-finders to bring home! Registration for this event ends 7/16.

Summer Reading Event—Wings of the Night (Grades 1-12)/Thursday, July 19, 6:30-7:30pm: While both of these nocturnal animals rely heavily on their sense of hearing to survive, each has its own way of catching prey. A live owl, props, and multimedia presentation help students learn how each creature is beneficial to the natural world. Registration is required.

Summer Reading Event—Brown Bag Book Club (Grades 2-4)/Monday, July 23, 5:30-6:30pm: This book club is held on the 4th Monday of the month. Books are available at the children's desk for you to pick up in plenty of time for reading. For July we are reading: ‘The Night Fairy’ by Laura Amy Schlitz. We always have food! Why not give it a try? Please register for this summer event.

Summer Reading Event—American Girl Party (Grades K-5)/Thursday, July 26, 6:30-7:30pm: Come help us celebrate America with the American Girls - big dreamers all! Learn a little history, eat a little American Girl fare, play some American Girl games, and do some American Girl crafts. If you have an American Girl doll bring her along! You can even dress up like your favorite American Girl! Registration for this event ends 7/24.
