Kimball Library News 9/25/12

*NEW* on our webpage are some databases that you may not have tried yet. There are four distinct reference options to choose from: Gale Virtual Reference Library, Chilton Library, Legal Forms, and Price It! Antiques and Collectibles. You will need your 14 digit library card number to access them. The GVR Library has the following subjects available: Biography, Business, Education, Environment, General Reference, History, Law, Literature, Medicine, Multicultural Studies, Nation and World, Religion, Science, and Social Science. Try exploring and searching at your leisure.

Chilton Library has ‘Automotive Repair Information for Do-It-Yourself (DIY) People’. Chilton Library provides exclusive photographs, diagnostics designed by instructors, step-by-step repair procedures, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) maintenance schedules, wiring diagrams, recalls and Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) for automobiles and light trucks in one easy-to-use web site. Since Kimball Library subscribes to Chilton Library, you are now equipped with decades of data to maintain your vehicle. You can choose by vehicle and subject.

Legal Forms has a general search engine, but it also has radio buttons of the most popular searchers that include divorce, bankruptcy, power of attorney, wills & estates, landlord tenant, name change, real estate, sample letters, and incorporation. Sometimes your legal needs are right at the end of your library card and fingertips!

Price It! Antiques & Collectibles is a database for novice and professional collectors. It is a comprehensive antique and collectible pricing tool, which delivers 23 million realized prices on treasures nearly 30% of Americans collect, buy and trade every day.

Not as new, but you may have missed, is a treasure less than 6 months old to us called “Transparent Languages”. Improve your foreign language skills with this language database service. Over 80 languages are available with step by step online tutorials for learning a new language. Once you are registered you can access Transparent Language through your home computer via the Internet, or a mobile device.

Take note that we have many informative features on our website and it is worth looking at daily so you can get in on the latest events—many of which require registration. You can log into your account, renew your items, put items on hold, use our handy databases, download forms for room reservations, read the latest library news, reserve museum passes, download an ebook or audiobook, have the kids play with the Tumblebook Library, and much much more. Let your fingers do the walking!
