MORE STAY-CATION: Are you sticking around Feb 22-26
with the kiddos? Are you having a ‘Winter
Stay-cation’ with us? We have activities
planned for the littles through the teenagers that you can register for right
on our website. Last week we featured
the Monday & Tuesday events. Did you
miss it? Check the website! Now onto the 2nd half of vacation
stay-cation week! (Please note residents have priority over all registered
programming.)
LEGO
MARATHON: Come by on Wednesday,
February 24th, between 10am and 6pm. We've got Legos and other
building blocks of assorted sizes for you to share in community. Playing
at the library has some advantages--it keeps your house free from the blocks
everywhere, and it's a good place to meet up with other like-minded Lego fiends
or parents of Lego fiends. This is a drop-in event and building
structures will be put up and taken down throughout the day. Pack up the
kiddos and relax while the children put their imaginations to work.
Children under 10 may not be left unattended. (*We have Duplos for the
littles. :)
SNAP
CIRCUITS: Register grades 3-6 to enter the Snap Circuits Lab on
Wednesday, February 24th, from 6:30-7:30pm. The lab will give
opportunity to explore and build in step by step fashion with the help of the
facilitator using our electronics kits.
CD
WEAVING ART: Attention all artists! Also on Wednesday, February 24th, from 6:30-7:30pm we
are offering CD weaving art for children in grades K and up. We will recycle CD
disks and scrap yarn to make colorful works of art. The possibilities are
endless as you choose the yarn colors you like and learn to use a plastic
needle to weave. Join us as we compile our work into a beautiful display.
KIDS
COLORING & PAINTING: Are YOU curious about the new trend in adult
coloring? Bring your children to the
children's room between 10:30am and 12:30pm on Thursday, February 25th
for some coloring and painting that is child-friendly -- meanwhile, you can
sneak over and try out some coloring with adults in the meeting room. We don't expect to supervise your child for 2
hours of coloring and/or painting, but they are welcome to stay in the
children's room as long as they can focus on the activity. Come at any time
during the two hour window. Registered
guests are welcome.
STAR WARS: May the
force be with you as you attend this epic 'Star Wars' event on Thursday,
February 25th, from 6:30-7:30pm. Engage in Jedi training, scavenge
on our asteroid hunt, and defeat the enemy in storm trooper bowling! All this and
more is waiting for you Padawans! (Register residents grades K -5, please.)
TAKE AND
BAKE: Here's what's cooking! Join friends as we use simple recipes
for you to combine, take home, and bake. Yummy treats will await you to enjoy
in your very own home. Bring an apron if you have one & registered resident
youth grades K and up will create some delightful treats on Friday, February,
26th, from 11am until noon.
KID TECH
APPOINTMENTS: You can have a lesson on your gadget (iPod Touch,
smart phone, tablet, etc.) and learn how to borrow and put a free e-book on
it. This is a basic session for resident
youth. We have 30 minute increments
available in the afternoon on Friday, February, 26th, from 1-4pm. Register online or if you have questions
contact Kathy Watson for more information at kwatson@kimballlibrary.com or 603.362.5234. (Parents may watch and learn.)
