Kimball Library News 2/1/16

ORIGAMI FOR YOU & ME: It's time for some origami! Do you know how to fold paper? If you already love origami, all the better. If not, come put a smile on your face when you make several items to take home. Younger children will need the help of a parent or caretaker. It's a fun, folding craft that’s being offered for grades K and up on Saturday, February 20th, from 11 to noon.  Please register yourself and a friend.

STAY-CATION:  Are you sticking around Feb 22-26 with the kiddos?  Are you having a ‘Winter Stay-cation’ with us?  We have activities planned for babies through teenagers that you can register for right on our website.  The next few weeks we’ll be publishing a taste of what’s to come.

BINGO FOR BOOKS:  Come on down and play 'BINGO for Books' on Monday, February 22nd, from 4-5pm. There's a winner for every game and you get to choose a book from our stack of new or slightly used books we've saved just for BINGO. Any age child is a good age to play, but parents may have to help the littlest ones. No need to register--just come and try your luck!

BROWN BAG BOOK CLUB: The February book is 'The Magician's Elephant by Kate DiCamillo for (grades 3 & 4) to read and then come to our discussion February 22nd at 6pm.  Just bring a brown bag supper and have fun sharing what you thought about the book with your friends.  We have drinks and desserts ready for you.  Please register so we’ll have enough for everyone.

SCAVENGER HUNT: On Tuesday, February 23rd, at 10:30am we'll search high and low for many items using our very own binoculars that we decorate. Children ages 2+ through kindergarten should join us for lots of fun and smiles during school vacation break. Registration is required.

MOBILE MAKING: Got the winter blues? It's time to 'spiff' up your room and this might be the greatest decor yet. Join us on Tuesday, February 23rd, at 1:00pm to make an animal-themed mobile and have the best looking room in the neighborhood. Please register yourself and a friend.

T/WEEN ZEN & COLOR: 'One way to think of Zen is this: a total state of focus that incorporates a total togetherness of body and mind. Zen is a way of being. It also is a state of mind. Zen involves dropping illusion and seeing things without distortion created by your own thoughts.'

It's VACATION.  Time to chillax and unwind. T/weens (ages 10-19) will be doing 'adult' coloring and working with Zentangle patterns. You may choose either or both.  This is a great way to learn some relaxation techniques for all that school and relationship stress!  Register yourself and your friends and come chill out with us on Tuesday, February 23rd, from 6:30-8:00pm.

**If you have an adult coloring book, please bring it and any other fun supplies you may have gleaned in your holiday haul!  :)
