Some collector & autographed books are priced individually.
The Friends of the Kimball Library will have homemade baked goods for purchase.  Stop by to stock up and support a great local organization.  All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Kimball Library and will be used for future children's and adult programming.

If you would like to donate books, please drop off at the library by Thursday, September 21st, by 3pm.  (We appreciate the early birds who get their donations here well before the deadline!)  We will meet you around back for multiple boxes or bags of donations.  The library is open for library business the normal Saturday hours 10-3 on the day of the sale.

GRILS WHO CODE OPEN HOUSE: This is a drop-in OPEN HOUSE for all interested girls and parents on the nights of Tuesday, September 12th and 19th at 6:30pm. These are the nights you decide if you want to commit, and we get through some of the red tape.  PLEASE, let us know if you are interested by registering for this event.  If you miss the open house, it’s not too late!  GWC will operate on Tuesday nights as long as we have a commitment of at least 6 girls.

Girls Who Code is a nonprofit organization that teaches girls computer science and programming concepts. Kimball Girls Who Code Club is being run by certified Girls Who Code instructor Pam Livingston and being assisted by Kathy Watson.

The program will take place here at the library Tuesdays promptly at 6:30 and getting out at 7:50. It does not cost anything to participate, but you are asked to bring a laptop to use. If this is a problem please let Kathy know as the library has a limited amount of laptops.  The club will take place weekly until the end of May with some weeks off--especially vacation weeks and meeting room conflicts. The expectation is that you will come unless you are ill or out of town.  The lessons build weekly and to 'pass' you need to attend 80% of the meetings.

Questions? Contact Kathy Watson at kwatson@kimballlibrary.com This event is for girls in grades 5-12 only.  Mature 5th graders, only, please.

PREVENTING AN ID THEFT CRISIS: Millions of Americans fall victim to identity theft each year resulting in personal loss of money as well as significant time and stress spent in correcting the problem.  Nearly half of all identity thefts are discovered by the victims, highlighting the need for you to take an active role in detection.

Come join us to for an educational workshop and learn about theft, how it occurs, how to prevent it, and what to do if you become a victim.  We have two identical workshops on Tuesday, September 26th.  One is at 1pm and the others is at 6:30pm.  Registration is required.

Key points we’ll address: Ways to protect yourself, Awareness of the different forms of identity theft, Strategies to safeguard your personal information using techniques such as shredding documents, using online caution and keeping mail safe, actions to take to defend yourself from personal and financial harm.
This workshop is presented by James Naugler, Business Development Officer, Assistant Vice President, Citizens Bank and Tom Howard, Branch Manager, Citizens Bank.  Register ASAP as seats are limited.
