Kimball Library 6/11/18

Is it summer yet?  If you are like us you are chomping at the bit to get the kids and teens registered for summer reading and to get into the courtyard for some concerts, shows, and activities.  Check your date book and reserve the dates, and check to see if registration is required.  We don’t want anyone to miss out.

MARIO CART TOURNAMENTS ROCK: Reserve your spot now for this summer’s Mario Kart Wii Tournament!

Whether you've never played before or you are an expert, join us for some fast-paced, big screen, friendly competition-based fun! Each player will compete multiple times in simple one versus one races. The top winners will compete in a Grand Prix cup race to find the winners of the tournament!
Because the only prize received will be the pride of winning, all players can know they are set up for a 'just for fun' environment. Join us, turn the steering wheel, cheer on your friends, and have a fun filled
evening with us.  Youth in grades K through 12 are invited to register and join us on Thursday, July 5th from 6:30 to 7:30 PM.  Just this one time, you can drive as fast as you want!

AFRICA ROCKS: Libraries Rock all over the world, so come 'ROCK' with Africa on Monday, July 9th with African games, stories, and a fun craft. Learn how to make an African Collar and try tasty roasted wheat berries and nutty bananas!

Register youth entering grades K-5 in the Fall of 2018 for this multi-cultural event.

MUSEUM PASS EXPANSION: Hold your hats, you are now able to check out passes to NH State parks!  We have admission to all day-use parks for 2 adults and up to 4 dependents. (Not valid at Hampton Beach State Park - South Beach, Wallis Sands State Park, Cannon Mountain Aerial Tramway, or the Flume Gorge). Passes are not valid for use at the metered parking or for camping. In the event a park facility is full to capacity, the use of this pass does not guarantee entrance. The pass holder must take his/her place in line with those waiting for admission.

The pass must be shown to the collector for each park visited. No refunds will be given for any reason. Laminated passes list the specific day of entry on the front of the pass. Passes must be returned to the library by the end of the next business day. Passes may be sealed and placed in the envelope provided and placed in the book drop. Most parks are only open from Memorial Day weekend through Columbus Day although Monadnock State Park is open year-round. Operating dates and times are weather dependent and subject to change without notice. Check our museum website for further information under the museum pass icon.

Stay tuned for future article regarding some cool backpacks to accompany you to some of these sites!  Wheeee, there are always surprises at Kimball Library.

CONCERTS IN THE COURTYARD COMING UP!: Summer kicks off with all ages concert with Keith Munslow! In his highly interactive triple-whammy show, Keith delivers fun, funky music, lightning-fast cartooning, and hilarious stories that will have grown-ups laughing as much as the kids!  Start your summer right at 6:30 on June 20th.

Not to be outdone, the courtyard continues with another outstanding performance to come by returning Don Campbell! The Don Campbell Trio includes a bassist and Durham, NH musician, Tom Yoder, on fiddle and mandolin.  Their accolades are too many to mention so come on June 21st at 6 PM and see for yourself.  All ages and guests are welcome.
