Kimball Library News 7/29/19

Magic and music and more, oh my!

OUTTA THIS WORLD COSMOS MAGIC: Join magician and juggler Scott Jameson for an extraordinary performance that will have you laughing out loud and perched on the very edge of your seat.  Umbrellas will be plucked from thin air, a drawing will come to life, basketballs will be spun and juggled, and a member of the audience will unlock telekinetic abilities. This is just a magical smattering of ideas of what might happen.  You’ll need to register yourself and your family for the event on Wednesday, August 14th, at 6:30 PM.  After all, seeing is believing.

If the weather cooperates, this event will be held in the Kimball Courtyard.  Please bring blankets or lawn chairs if you wish or use our stadium seating. If the weather is rude we will sit on the floor in the meeting room if we are under the age of 50.

Register all ages.  For more information about Scott Jameson visit his website at www.scottjameson.com.

This is a ‘Universe of Stories’ summer reading event sponsored by The Friends of Kimball Library.

TIMBERLANE COMMUNITY BAND CONCERT, COOKOUT, & ICE CREAM SOCIAL:  More sweet sounds are slated to come in the courtyard!  Get these dates on your calendar ASAP and invite your friends and neighbors.

The Timberlane Community Band is a volunteer 50-piece adult concert band, led by Timberlane Regional High School Music Director, Tony DiBartolomeo. They perform at various indoor and outdoor venues in the greater area. Bring a lawn chair and blanket as outdoor seating is limited. There is limited parking, carpooling is suggested.

Beginning 4:30-5:30 on Thursday, August 15th, there will be a cookout ~ $5.00 for a burger or hot dog, chips and a drink!  Next up from 5:30-6:00 The Atkinson Recreation will be offering free ice cream sundaes. Then kick back and relax and 6:00 PM to hear the wonderful band tunes!

*This event is sponsored by the Atkinson Recreation, Atkinson Elder Services and Atkinson Lions Club. In case of inclement weather, the rain date will be held on Thursday, August 22nd, instead of the Timberlane Jazz Band so cross  your fingers for the good stuff and you won’t want to miss either band.

TIMBERLANE COMMUNITY JAZZ BAND: Join us for a cookout and jazz music on Wednesday, August 22nd, to hear acoustically perfect jazzy sounds coming from the courtyard.  Slated from 5:00-6:00 is a cookout ($5.00 for a burger/hot dog, chips, cookie/brownie, and a drink).  Proceeds benefit the Timberlane Community Music Association (TCMA). You can pre-pay at the Timberlane Community Concert Band performance the week before (August 15th) or you can purchase a ticket the night of the Jazz Band event (August 22nd).  Concert begins sharply at 6 pm.

The group will perform favorite big band tunes from the past and present. Bring a blanket or lawn chair or use the limited seating on the courtyard hillside. Watch the weather and the kimballlibrary.com website for cancellations in the event of inclement weather.

PRESCHOOL CAMPS: Preschool camps run until the end of the third week in progress.  Even if you have not joined us earlier in the summer, you may cash in on the last few weeks.  Register in person, online, or over the phone.  Mother Goose, Bitty Books, and Kiddie Lit adventures are here for your littles.
