Kimball Library News 1/18/21

Tweens and teens can sign up for their very own subscription box from Kimball Library to be delivered to their doorstep once a month. The boxes will include: two Books (hand-picked by the librarians), craft supplies and instructions, flyers about upcoming events, or new items and one special surprise (a snack, toy, tattoos, free book, it could be anything!)

This subscription will run from February through May. The first box will be delivered by the second week in February. Empty boxes must be returned in person (or at the front door) by the last Friday of the month in order to be eligible to receive the next month’s box.

For more information, and to register, please visit our website or give us a call. These ‘LitFix’ will boxes are specifically for grades 5-12 and are sure to be a t/ween pleaser.

TWINKLETOES: Starting Feb 2nd, Miss Daniele will be leading a new class for the youngest dancers to try out their moves. We’ll get up and get moving to learn new ways to dance, jump, and stretch. This program will take place on Zoom on Tuesdays through the month of February.  Sign up ages 2-5 for Tuesdays at 2:00 PM. You’ll have twinkle toes dancing through your house.

INTRODUCTION TO MINDFULNESS: Join us for an introduction to the practice of Mindfulness. Learn how mindfulness impacts the brain, promotes emotional well-being, physical, health and longevity. Instructor Liz Korabek-Emerson will provide formal instructions and exercises to walk you through some simple mindfulness practice tools. In addition, she will provide suggestions of how to apply the practice to daily life.

Regardless, if you have never tried Mindfulness or are just looking for a way to jump back into the practice, you are invited to join us. Register for your Zoom link today. Class is on Thursday, February 4th, at 6:30 PM.

About the instructor: Liz Korabek-Emerson is a certified mindfulness teacher, transformational workshop leader and creative coach dedicated to helping people become more resilient in their workplaces, homes and communities. Korabek-Emerson has designed mindfulness programs for individuals and organizations, including the Portsmouth Hospital, Beacon Hospice, Liberty Mutual and the Riverwoods Retirement Community.
