Kimball Library News 11/14/21

Make a boxwood tree with Felicia Motherway!

Learn how to make a beautiful fresh boxwood tree to enjoy for the holidays. The boxwood tree is an elegant design made out of boxwood and decorated with velvet ribbon, gold glass balls, berries and natural gypsophila. This popular centerpiece will last for months and is perfect for your home or for those who want a small holiday tree to enjoy.

The class offered on December 6th at 6 PM is full, so we are offering a second opportunity at 3:30 PM. We need at least 10 participants to make this section happen. Let us know as soon as you read this article! The class is geared for teens and adults.

Felicia has been teaching this class for years at the Library, and nobody will leave without a tree that looks like it was professionally done. She is gifted teacher and will help you if you need it.

Reservations are required as the materials fee of $40 must be paid in advance. If the minimum goal of 10 people is not met you will be refunded. Take note that 6:30 PM is full, but you may put yourself on a waiting list in case someone in that time slot needs to drop out.

Please sign up at the circulation desk or call the library at 603 362-5234.

STEAM CHALLENGE CLUB: Take a peek at the online calendar and see that we are full STEAM ahead coming up on some December Mondays from 3:30 to 4:30 PM.

Youth in grades two through five are encouraged to register for this first 3 week session. The Mondays will be the 6th, 13th, and 20th.

Can you build a car with macaroni? How about a plane using only Magformers? We also have Keva Planks, Marble Runs, Brainflakes, Snap Circuits, and other STEM toys.

See what you can create in our new STEAM Challenge Club! Each week we will have tables set up with different materials and test our skills at designing and building. Our first half of class will be direction heavy as we make our way through several different challenges. Then all bets are off and you can create whatever you want using the provided material! Join us for this 3-week program and blow off some STEAM!!

We know from experience that you can use pick-up patrol and they can take a specific bus to the Library that arrives around 3:12 PM. That will give your children 15 minutes to unwind and eat the snack you sent them. Children may take the bus from Atkinson Academy if parents personally make arrangements with Pick-Up Patrol. (The Kimball Library is not taking responsibility for the transportation, we are only letting you know that there is a bus that stops here.) Please pack them a snack that they can have before 3:30. We have water available.
