A VISIT WITH DAVID MCPHAIL: Register and join us for a special event on Monday, September 25th at 6:00 PM with local bestselling children’s book author and illustrator, David McPhail!

You will meet the acclaimed author and illustrator of Mole Music, Pigs a Plenty, Pigs Galore, Sisters, Brothers, A Bug, a Boy, and a Bear, Edward and the Pirates, and many, many more! This is the perfect way for kids of all ages to meet an author, so register now to meet David McPhail and celebrate the release of Truffle: A Dog and Cat Story!

The Meeting Room will contain some original artwork from Truffle and host an author talk with questions and answers by the Mr. McPhail. After the presentation of the story, children ages 5 and up are invited to the Children’s Craft Barn to try out some writing and illustrating in anticipation of one day having their very own ‘About the Author’ page!

David McPhail is a beloved author-illustrator of many books for children including best-selling picture books, board books, and novelty books. He received a New York Times Best Illustrated Books Honor for Edward and the Pirates. He lives near the ocean in New Hampshire with his wife, Jan Waldron.

NASA CLIMATE CHANGE (ZOOM): The missions of NASA’s Earth Science Division help us to understand our planet’s interconnected systems, from a global scale down to minute processes. The division delivers the technology, expertise, global observations, and applications that help us map the myriad connections between our planet’s vital processes and the climate effects of ongoing natural and human-caused changes. Learn about the efforts of teams of NASA researches who are currently examining Earth to understand climate change, storms, fires, and where people fit in to all of it presented by Dr. Elizabeth Hoy, PhD, a NASA scientist for over 10 years. Her research interests are in geography and disturbance mapping within the high northern latitude regions of North America where she utilizes GIS and remote sensing to understand aspects of environmental change.
