Kimball Library News 6/8/10

MAKE A SPLASH (PreK-Grade 5) or MAKE WAVES (entering grade 6 and up), but do MAKE SUMMER READING a priority. Help your child ‘decide’ to register. We’ll do the wooing with prizes, blue hair challenges, raffles, crafts, games, book discussions, movies, and more. There is literally something for everyone if you help us with the initial commitment portion which involves a trip to Kimball Library. Registration begins on JUNE 17 and is ongoing, but the sooner your child registers the sooner we can reel them into making summer reading a real part of their summer. Join us in this team effort where everyone wins.

Kicking off summer reading with a bang is a ‘whale’ of a good time! Come get ‘eaten’ by a whale. A 60-foot finback whale is coming to Kimball Library on Tuesday, June 29, and will be here from 6-7pm. You'll be able to go inside and learn about these whales that are native to New England. They are the second-largest animals on earth. Our whale is from the Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation, Portsmouth, NH, and it will definitely make ‘a splash’ or ‘waves’ for summer reading. This summer reading program is sponsored by the Friends of the Library and is geared toward grades one and up.
