Kimball Library News 4/26/11

It’s raining books! Hallelujah! It’s raining books! Please keep the book wave going. We’d love to keep stocking up for the upcoming semi-annual Book Sale that coincides with the Town-Wide Yard Sale (May 21). We are interested in gently used books, DVDs, and music. (Please, no magazines, textbooks, or condensed books.) Take the plunge with spring cleaning and we’ll take the goods off your hands. All donated items find a home in the book sale, our library, or Got Books. Proceeds from the sale benefit the library and you’ll make the ‘Friends of Kimball Library’ very pleased!

Hawke, the reader dog, has been on vacation, but she is back! Register now to come and read with Lady Hawke and celebrate Hawke's birthday on Wednesday, May 18, from 4:00-5:00pm! Have a cupcake with us in honor of Hawke. This wonderful nine year old Labrador retriever is very patient and loves being read to by children. She is a certified therapy dog with Therapy Dogs International and loves her visits with new and experienced readers. When she's not reading, Hawke lives in Plaistow with her sister and brother Labs and human family. It’s certainly not required that you bring a gift, but Hawke loves presents just as much as kids do. Dog treats and appropriate bones are welcome.

Please take note that Kimball Library will be closed on Memorial Day weekend. (Saturday, May 28-Monday, May 30) Two day loan items taken on Thursday, May 26, will not be due back until Tuesday, May 31. Take advantage of the extension, and please have a safe and pleasant holiday weekend.
