Kimball Library has many services of which you may not be aware. Listed below are just a few of the many perks of possessing an active library card.
Museum passes: We have discounted passes available for reservation. You may reserve them online, over the phone, or in person. Reserve your passes early for vacation weeks or holidays so you won’t be disappointed. Available options~ Currier Museum of Art, Museum of Science. Museum of Fine Arts, Peabody Essex Museum, New England Aquarium, Seacoast Science Center, Imajine That, Zoo New England (Franklin Park Zoo-Stone Zoo). Take advantage of these great discounts.
Downloadable eBooks and audiobooks: Visit our webpage, www.kimballlibrary.com, and click on the downloadable books link. PRESTO: Welcome to New Hampshire Downloadable audiobooks & eBooks! The site is brought to you by 150 NH public libraries. Every audiobook and eBook in the NHDB collection can be downloaded to a PC and nearly every audiobook can be transferred to your Windows formatted iPod. All audiobooks can be transferred to a compatible WMA player. MP3 audiobooks can be transferred to compatible MP3 players. All MP3 audiobooks can be downloaded to your Mac and transferred to an iPod or other compatible MP3 player. eBooks can be downloaded to your Mac using Adobe Digital Editions software. To enjoy the audiobooks on your PC or Mac you will need to install the Overdrive Media Console. To download eBooks to your PC or Mac you will need to install Adobe Digital Editions. Universal class: At the click of a button you can have an education on us! Just look under the library links on our webpage for ‘Universal Class.’ Some sample classes are: Interview skills 101, Medical terminology 101, Photography Basics, Microsoft Office 2007, Wedding Planning 101, Caring for Seniors, Stress Management 101, Writing Basics 101 and much more. There are over 500 online continuing education courses. You are welcome to enroll in up to 5 classes at a time, and you have up to 6 months to finish each class. You have access to your course 24/7 via the Internet. Attend class and do assignments on your schedule. Each course has a real instructor with whom you may communicate with using email. All of these courses are free for Kimball Library patrons.
Kimball Library will be closed on Memorial Day weekend (Saturday, May 28-Monday, May 30). Two day loan items taken on Thursday, May 26, will not be due back until Tuesday, May 31. Happy weekend!
