Kimball Library News 3/27/12

Would you like to take charge of your reserves, get email notifications of books that are soon to be due on your timetable, and get savvy with searching the new SNHLC catalog? We’re offering several modules in the upcoming month so you can do just that. Check out “Tips and Tricks with the Cooperative Catalog” from 10:30am-11:30am on the following dates: Thursday, April 5th, Wednesday, April 11th, and Monday, April 16th. Learn more about the new Southern NH Library Cooperative Catalog in the following areas: how to search the catalog, how to place holds, how to renew your materials, how to manage your user account, how to use the other cooperative libraries, and more.... If the class isn’t all you need you may sign up for one-on-one instruction in the “Turn it On” tech talk appointments available Wednesdays and Fridays. Don’t be shy—this is the time to learn and you’ll find it fast and easy.

Is your child disappointed that s/he didn’t get registered in time for making a tulip planter on Thursdays in April? Due to the high demand, we are offering a one day opportunity for the ‘Home Depot Tulip Planter’ workshop for Atkinson children in kindergarten and up on Saturday, April 14th, from 10:30am to noon. This one day workshop entails making and painting a tulip planter. Children under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult for this class. Registration is required as well as a waiver. Samples of this adorable planter are in the lobby. Stop in and take a peek. Register in person or on the phone. Don’t delay and have your child miss out. These make great Mother’s Day gifts.

Does your teen ever complain that there is nothing good to read? Send them to Kathy Watson, Youth Services Director, and she will spend one on one time with your teen helping them choose a book s/he might actually read! Sometimes all your teen or tween needs is the power of suggestion from someone who loves teen books and isn’t related to them. Here are some samples of some new titles just added to the collection – The List by Vivian, The Blood by MacHale, Hide and Seek by Shepard, Zero Hour by Walden, The Black by MacHale, But I Love Him by Grace, Paper Covers Rock by Hubbard, Pandemonium by Oliver, Two Truths and a Lie by Shepard, Infamous by Kenyon, Out of Sight, Out of Time by Carter, Catching Jordan by Kenneally, Underworld by Cabot, A Midsummer Tights Dream by Rennison, Curveball by Sonnenblick, The Sea Wolves by Golden, Love is a Battlefield by Perez, Bewitching by Flinn, Invincible by Kenyon, Why We Broke Up by Handler, Nothing by Teller, The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Carson, Beautiful Chaos by Kami and The Wild by Golden.
