Kimball Library News 6/13/16

Keep reading and keep registering for summer reading and all the accompanying activities!  Children entering grades K-5 register for ‘On Your Mark, Get Set, READ!’ and tweens and teens entering grades 6-college register for ‘Get in the Game, READ’.  Participation is made simple by receiving chances for prizes by visiting the library and checking items out.

MARBLE MAZE: This is a fun game to make using flexible straws and plenty of tape. You can create your own maze or use a pattern that we will have here for you. The bends in the straws make perfect corners for the marble to roll around. This is an activity just right for a summer night so come make one with us!
Please bring your creativity, a competitive spirit, and a shirt box with you on Monday, July 11th, at 6:30pm.  This is a summer reading event geared for children entering kindergarten through grade 5.  Registration is required.

T/WEEN FRISBEE & PLAYSHOP with TODD BRODEUR: Two-time Freestyle Frisbee Champion, Todd Brodeur, educates, entertains and motivates his audience with captivating Frisbee shows and interactive playshops. He promotes staying active throughout your life by playing disc sports. He focuses on healthy lifestyles, creativity, flexibility and balance, all aimed at improving self-esteem and confidence. World Class Frisbee Shows and Playshops teaches the next generation new ways to learn Frisbee skills that increase hand-eye coordination and all will have fun and success while exercising.

Frisbee flipping has been part of American pop culture for over 50 years. Across the globe, the popularity of Frisbee sports has never been greater. Now you and your group can watch a master of the craft and also learn and improve your freestyle skills. This simple space age object will bring fun and excitement to any group or class. Students will be inspired to play more Frisbee, be active, be self-aware and continue to discover.

This event is for tweens (age 9 and up–or those entering grade 4 and up) on Wednesday, July 13th, at Atkinson Academy. We encourage the adults of the youth to stay for the show and participate in the playshop. Please register all youth and adults who will be in attendance. This event is designated for tweens, teens, and adults only. This is a family event for the older ‘kids’.

***Register early to avoid disappointment.  If you are an 'adult' please put 'adult' in the grade field.  If you are 9-19, please list the grade you will ENTER in the fall.
