Are you in need of basic computer instruction in a small class setting?

This 90-minute introduction class is geared to individuals who have little to no computer experience. Participants do not need to have a computer at home although access to a computer is helpful.  This class is offered in a small group setting (2 – 5 per class) and participants will be using the library laptop computers.

The class will introduce the basics such as: how to use a keyboard and mouse, basic computer concepts such as resizing and navigating toolbars, windows, and menus) and file management (creating and opening files and folders).

Registration is required and class size is limited. Please indicate your level of experience:  NONE or NEW (as in new to computers but has basic typing skills). Individuals must have a Kimball Library card to attend this program.  The initial session is on Wednesday, September 14^th, from 2-3:30pm.

MAGIC TREE HOUSE BOOK CLUB: The first meeting for the fall is on Thursday, September 22, at 4:30pm.  The book of the month is Sunset of the Sabertooth (Book #7). 

We'll explore history with Jack & Annie, discuss books & have fun activities & snacks to share.  The club is for 1st & 2nd graders. Registration is required and books are available in the children's room.  Residents will have priority.

TUESDAY EVENING AT THE MOVIES: The True Story Of The Screaming Eagles: 101st Airborne documentary covers the origin of the 101 Airborne Division, the screaming eagles but also highlights the Vietnam War when the 101st Airborne Division fought in several major campaigns and battles. Upon its arrival in Vietnam in 1965 (1st Brigade, followed by the 2nd and 3rd brigades in 1968), the division was an airborne unit.  In almost seven years of combat in Vietnam, elements of the 101st participated in 15 campaigns.

This movie showing on Tuesday, September 27^th, at 6:30pm is presented as part of a New Hampshire Humanities Community Project Grant called Community Stories: Soldiers Home & Away.  This is a collaboration involving nine southern NH libraries and Timberlane Regional School District.  For more details about this project and a full schedule of events and other details go to www.communitystoriesnh.org.
