Kimball Library News 10/29/18

Do you enjoy cooking and trying new recipes? If so, why not join our Healthy Cookbook Club that meets one Monday of each month. The club chooses a different healthy cookbook to dive into for the month. Members check out a copy of the cookbook and spend time trying out the various recipes at home. When the group gathers the next month, we discuss the health benefits of the various recipes and share opinions of the meals tried. In addition, participants prepare and bring a sample of a recipe from the cookbook to share with the group.

On Monday, November 19th, at 6:30 PM we will be discussing Michael Symon's book “5 in 5 For Every Season”. Register ASAP and come get a book so you can start the holiday season on a healthy foot!

BOXWOOD TREE CRAFTING: Learn how to make a beautiful fresh boxwood tree to enjoy for the holidays on Monday, November 26th from 6-8 PM. The boxwood tree is an elegant design made out of boxwood and decorated with velvet ribbon, gold glass balls, berries and natural gypsophila. This popular centerpiece will last for months and is perfect for your home or for those who want a small holiday tree to enjoy.

Felicia Motherway will guide you and even the ‘craft-impaired’ will leave with a lovely product. Materials fee of $38 must be paid in advance and your reservation is secure only after you come to the library and pay for your space.  Checks must be made out to Felicia Motherway or also cash is acceptable form of payment.

Sign up early at the circulation desk or call the library at 603 362-5234. Space is limited and we don’t want to leave you behind!

CREATING HOLIDAY & THANK YOU CARDS: Join us in creating some lovely and unique holiday greeting cards and thank you cards for the upcoming seasons. Using stamping and scrapbook techniques, come learn how to create 12 beautiful cards (6 greeting and 6 thank you cards). Kimball Library’s own gifted scrapbooker, Cathie Piccolo, will be instructing the class along with Lois Powers and will be providing pre-cut materials, embellishments and support to make your own cards. Walk away with some unique cards to use this holiday season.

Registration is required and seating is limited for this special opportunity on Thursday, November 29th, from 6:00-8:00 PM. A non-refundable materials fee of $15.00 must be paid at time of registration. Stop in at the library and register today! Call for more information.

*If you are experienced at scrapbooking and wish to bring your own supplies (such as: adhesives and craft scissors) to work with please feel free to bring them.

LET’S COOK TONIGHT: This has been a three event series September-November and we end by cooking ‘Tasty Vegetable Fajitas’ for our dinner!   Our goal has been to learn food preparation, take part in the cooking, and of course eat the meal together! Register now (grades 3-6) and cook with us on Thursday, November 29th from 6-7:30 PM.  It’s always a delight seeing young chefs in action.
