Kimball Library News 11/4/19


According to Kanopy, Kanopy is the best video streaming service for quality, thoughtful entertainment. Find movies, documentaries, foreign films, classic cinema, independent films and educational videos that inspire, enrich and entertain. They partner with public libraries and universities to bring you an ad-free experience that can be enjoyed on your TV, mobile phone, tablets and online.  According to us, Kanopy is an answer to patron requests for more downloadable services and this is just our way of delivering, yet again, the best we can to our marvelous patrons.  You will get 10 free downloads per month. Try it out today by visiting https://kimballlibrary.kanopy.com/.  Simply add your library card number and password that you use when you log into Koha.  You need to have a current card in good standing.  Let us know if you have any questions.

POPULAR HOLIDAY DROP ‘N SHOP: Let the kids spend the day with crafts, art, music, games, and movement! Our finale will be a show with Michelle's Menagerie!  There are limited spots so please register children in grades 1-5 for this exciting event on Saturday, December 7th from 10:00 – 2:30.  Children who attend all-day kindergarten will also be considered.

10-10:15 Drop off & sign waiver.  Children may not be left unless the waiver is signed by a parent or guardian, they have a lunch, and they have appropriate outdoor gear.

10:15-12:00  Sessions 1 and 2 will consist of developmentally appropriate crafts and games. We have plans to make wintery crafts as well as play snow globe BINGO and more. 

12-12:30 Session 3: Lunch break with outdoor recess. If weather is very poor we will use our STEM toys at the break.  Please pack a lunch for this session as well as outdoor gear.

12:30-1:15 Session 4: Holiday ZUMBA and Games with MICHELLE COLLINS—Join us to reconnect and have fun with Miss Michelle! Join us for a fun and vigorous workout to holiday music you love! Get exposed to dance moves from around the world in repetitious formats that are easy to follow. If you aren't sure- just move your feet to the beat! Get healthy and strong together and have fun doing it! Please wear clothing you can move in and supportive footwear.  Get your jingle ON!

1:30-2:30 Session 5: MICHELLE'S MENAGERIE  (Siblings & parents may join us. We would appreciate you registering for Michelle's Menagerie separately if your child is not involved in the Drop n Shop event.) Michelle's Menagerie combines entertainment and education to create an exciting learning experience that will long be remembered! All programs provide an opportunity to learn about animals and their importance in the world. This is not a petting zoo, it is an awesome wildlife encounter.  Michelle’s Menagerie will be bringing her ‘Rainforest Animal’ collection.

HOLIDAY HOURS: Please note we are closed on November 11th for Veterans’ Day and on both November 28th and 29th for a Thanksgiving break.  We are open regular Saturday hours on November 30th. Stock up accordingly, and remember that Hoopla and Overdrive Downloadable books are open 24/7.
