Kimball Library News 1/20/2020

The beloved characters of Downton Abbey take to the big screen, and it turns out that they've got a major event to prepare for. After all, it's not every day that royalty makes an appearance. Of course, it's not long before tensions are running high. The property isn't even close to ready when it becomes clear that Carson the butler will need to come out of retirement to help run this sinking ship before it's too late.

This special event (repeated for those who were unable to make the snow day make-up) will be on Friday, February 7th, at 1:00 PM and registration is requested. Popcorn will not be served for this showing.  Please feel free to bring a chair cushion as there will be regular chair seating for this requested showing.  The film is rated PG and has a runtime of 122 minutes.

TWEEN COOKING: Join us (grades 3-7) on Thursday,  February 13th from 6:00-7:15 PM. Tonight's the night for pizza quesadillas with a side order of Italian sugar snap peas. Want to try your hand at fixing dinner? We have broadened the age range so some of the older tweens can try. Chef Birr promises lots of fun and good food to eat. You will taste and eat what you cook so be prepared to enjoy it all! Register now for this fun evening as registration is limited to 10.

T/WEEN YOGA: “"You cannot always control what goes on outside. But you can always control what goes on inside." Tweens and teens, this is your opportunity to learn to de-stress! Join Balancing Bear Yoga for a class to discover the magic of yoga. The class will be led by Kelsey Iani, RYT 200 on Tuesday, February 18th, at 6:00 PM.

No yoga experience is needed to attend. The class content is geared toward tweens and teens and open to anyone 9-19. Definitely invite a friend to register with you and you can chill-ax together.  Please bring your own yoga/exercise mat and dress comfortably. Water is also recommended.

THE KEYS TO PUBLIC SPEAKING NO-ONE IS TALKING ABOUT WITH LINDA UGELOW: Come hear Linda Ugelow and learn tips and tricks to feel more confident, relaxed, and natural in public speaking. The program is free and open to the public.  Please register for this event happening on February 13 at 6:30 PM.

NOTARY & PASSPORT SERVICES: Both notary and passport services are available only by appointments in advance.  We have one notary, and to receive service you must call ahead and you must be an Atkinson resident.
