Kimball Library News 6/15/2020

Don’t be discouraged by the lack of the electronic sign outside the building, but rather notice the new banners sporting the front reminding you that we are open for TAKE OUT and that SUMMER READING events are alive and well! Are you not sure how to use our Take Out at the Library? Just give us a call and we will gladly walk you through the process and get you started with this popular service. We cannot wait to hear from you!

JOB HUNTING FOR REMOTE WORK LIKE A PRO: This informative webinar will be hosted by Krystal Hicks, Career Strategist and Founder of JOBTALK on Thursday, July 16 @ 6:30 PM.
Do you find yourself fantasizing about working remotely, but you’re just not sure how to do that or where to start? Worried about what is next during this time of COVID-19 layoffs and changes in hiring? Join us for this 60-minute webinar, hosted by Krystal Hicks, Career Strategist and Founder of JOBTALK, to learn more about: How to approach this type of transition from traditional, on-site work environments, which industries are emerging as leaders in the remote work space, what job boards and resources are best for this type of search, and how to ensure your LinkedIn profile is (confidentially) working in your favor to ensure recruiters seeking remote employees can find you…
In 2017, Krystal Hicks was recognized as one of the Seacoast’s '10 to Watch' winners; a NH-based contest that recognizes young professionals who are active in the community and working towards economic development in the Seacoast.  She currently resides in Portsmouth and continues to teach her course, 'College to Career: How to stand out in today’s job market” to undergraduate business students at UNH.

Register today and see how you can find great work-from-home opportunities with growing organizations located around the country.  This event is a Webinar and registrants will be sent a personal link to attend.  Links may not be public and the event will not be recorded.

SPRITES WRITE: Let your imagination run wild at our virtual writers' group! Join us on Thursdays at 5:00 PM through June to work on some fun writing projects. We will meet on Zoom every week to discuss our projects and do some creative activities together. This event is geared for budding writers in grades K-6.

Be prepared to ‘Imagine Your Story’ and embrace the magic of writing. We will be working on writing projects to submit to the CLiF Kids' Writing Contest. This year's theme is focused on myths and fairytales so we will be creating our own new fractured fairytale stories! We will also play some fun writing games together like mad libs!

Register in our online event calendar and we will email you a link to our Zoom chatroom as well as the password to get in.

STAY TUNED: Visit our website, FaceBook page, Twitter account, Youtube or Instagram to learn about more updates and resources to come.  We miss all our face-to-face interactions with our wonderful community, but safe practice says ‘see you online.’  We have upcoming events online as well that you or your children will be able to participate in.  See you there!
