Kimball Library News 2/6/22

Please stop by the Library to give a warm ‘Welcome back!’ to Director, Karen Brown, who has been out on extended medical leave since September. She will appreciate the good cheer of your presence and, as a bonus, you’ll get a chance to peruse all the latest materials in person!

SPIRITUAL PET COMMUNICATION: Join Patti Anastasia, RN and Pet Communicator, for a night of exploration into some ways you can develop a spiritual connection and better communication with your pet.

You can expect to learn three tools you can use to talk with your animals and provide comfort and healing for them. Our pets have messages for us. Would you like to understand what they are trying to tell you?

Registration required for February 17th at 6:00 PM. Animal lovers and/or curiosity seekers will be satisfied!

STAY-CATION: Some lucky ducks will be traveling during the Timberlane Regional School District vacation week (February 28-March 4), but most of us will be looking for local events. Are you staying home for winter break? Need something to do? Drop by the Kimball Library for some exciting events! We’ll have movies, crafts, STEAM and sensory programs. There’s something for everyone to partake in and escape the cabin fever you might be feeling. GIZMO’S PAWSOME GUIDE TO MENTAL HEALTH©: Gizmo’s Pawsome Guide to Mental Health© takes an upstream approach to support the mental health and wellness of youth through Gizmo’s friendly messaging by: Introducing the concept of mental health; sharing how one may care for their own mental health daily; identifying when one’s mental health needs attention and how to use healthy coping strategies; defining trusted adults and how to connect with them; and making a personalized mental health plan that can be used daily.

The Guide also includes fun activities and resources trusted adults can use to help the youth in their lives.

This special event is planned for Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 1:00 PM. Registration is required for ages 7-11 and parents must attend with their child. This unique opportunity is presented by SoRock.

SoRock is currently working with the American Society for Suicide Prevention to bring Gizmo's Pawsome Guide to Mental Health, a mental health literacy program for ages 7-10 to our communities.  They are starting with a read along at local libraries. Take advantage of this amazing opportunity.
