Kimball Library News 6/25/23

Time to dust off your sewing machine and get back into the creative mood.  Join instructor, Darlene Irving as she leads another fun and educational sewing session.  In this 3-week class, you will learn to make a July Tote Bag.  Both practical and stylist the tote is 15” x 12” with a zippered pocket on the front and two elasticated pockets on the sides perfect for water bottles and cell phone. Plus, it has a recessed zippered top closure for security.

A list of materials for the project (i.e. fabric, thread, basic tools ...) will be provided prior to class.  Then just bring your materials and your sewing machine and get started.  This is a meet up / sew up group geared towards those who already have basic sewing machine skills.  Class size is limited so sign up today.

This class will meet on July 12th, 19th, and 26th from 12:30 to 2:30 PM.

Instructor, Darlene Irving has been sewing for over 40 years and enjoys sharing her love of sewing with others.

3-D PRINTING WITH TOYSINBOX: Toysinbox is here to teach you how to create 3D objects that you can take home! Each participant will be given hands-on experience with the software and make a multi-color mini 3-D object of their own creation. Due to the popularity of this event, we are offering two sessions.

Register grades 1-3 for 5:00 PM and grades 4-6 for 6:00 PM. For families with children in two separate groups, we can make some adjustments.

This is an All Together Now summer reading event sponsored by The Friends of Kimball Library.

CODING & ROBOTICS: Calling all future engineers! Children entering grades 1-3 in the fall are encouraged to join Gail Ramsay (Code & Circuit, Amesbury) and Kathy Watson (Kimball Library) for some coding fun! We will be utilizing Kodable, Osmo, and iRoot robots. Beginners are welcome as well as those with coding experience.

*Due to the limited number of spaces and high interest, a $10 deposit is required for each child to register. Deposits will be refunded when your child attends the class.

Please register in-person at the Children's Desk. We have two sessions available on Tuesday, July 11th. Youth entering grades 1-3 in the fall have class from 3:00-5:00 PM. T/weens entering grades 4-8 have class from 5:30-7:30 PM.
