Kimball Library News 11/19/23

Messages for you from the Director, Karen Brown.

Th next time you check out materials at the Library, have a look at the bottom of your receipt. It will show you the dollar value of what you borrowed that day and a grand total of how much you have saved cumulatively at the Library. I’ve borrowed more than $9,000 worth of titles – and that’s the discounted price the Library pays!

My door is always open and people do pop-in for a conversation which is wonderful! In an effort to increase my availability to any resident with a question, concern, wish or idea, I will be hosting open office hours. Please feel free to come by on the first Thursday of the month at 2:00 or 6:00 PM. Of course, you can always call (603-362-5234) or email me (director@kimballlibrary.com) if that’s more convenient. I look forward to hearing from you!FUSED GLASS CLASS: Come join us for a creative evening on Thursday, December 7th at 6 PM and learn to make a fused glass suncatcher or ornament. The suncatcher/ornament you create will need to be taken back to the studio to be fired in a kiln. You will receive a scheduled pick up date at the Library.

A non-refundable materials fee of $15.00 (cash only please) is required at time of registration. We generously thank the Friends of the Kimball Library for defraying a portion of the program cost. Register at the main circulation desk.

WRITER’S STUDIO (Adults): Join us for a lighthearted writer's studio for adults on Friday, December 8th at 10:30 AM with instructor, Donna Corriveau.

It will be a morning of self-expression and creativity where we welcome all writing styles and abilities. This gathering will allow you to engage in memoir writing while exploring your literary style. We will use the time to reflect on the holidays and traditions that inspire and influence our beliefs.

Please bring a couple of your most memorable holiday photos. We will use these photos to engage in a creative activity. All creative supplies will be provided. Feel free to bring a writing journal or other supplies supporting your writing style.

Instructor, Donna Quinn Corriveau, Direct Support Professional, manages a community-oriented organization titled Diversity Outreach Services. She enjoys engaging with other local organizations to share creative and self-expressive programs or activities. As Donna states, "I believe self-expression represents the highest form of joy."
