Kimball Library News 11/5/23

We all like to be heard, and we are making it easier than ever!

MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR
: My door is always open and people do pop-in for a conversation which is wonderful!

In an effort to increase my availability to any resident with a question, concern, wish or idea, I will be hosting open office hours. Please feel free to come by on the first Thursday of the month at 2:00 or 6:00 PM. Of course, you can always call (603-362-5234) or email me (director@kimballlibrary.com) if that’s more convenient. I look forward to hearing from you! (Karen Brown)

FESTIVE TISSUE TREE: This holiday tree is fun to make! There's plenty of pasting and decorating using many favorite craft supplies. Perhaps you will use stickers, pom poms and glitter, or maybe even stars! Who knows? In the end it will be uniquely yours and you will go home with your own designer tree.

On Saturday, December 2nd at 10:30 AM our crafty Mrs. Birr will be helping children in grades K-3 with their creations. Advance registration is required.

THE SCIENCE OF HAPPINESS: Do you ever find yourself wishing you could feel happier? Many of us do and we think we will feel happier as a result of something - such as finding a new job, finishing a project, losing 10 pounds, etc. However, psychologists and neurologists are now realizing that happiness can be more readily achieved through changing the way we think. Professor, Lizzie Linn Casanave, will explain this revolutionary concept and provide you with practical tools for achieving this new mindset.

Get in on the science of happiness and learn to be happier by registering for this event taking place on Monday, December 11th at 6 PM.

Presenter, Lizzie Linn has been teaching in higher education for over 15 years. She currently teaches interdisciplinary studies at Merrimack College. Her curriculum also includes a unit on “The Science of Happiness” which looks at happiness through the lens of positive psychology.
