Kimball Library News 7/6/10

Super Wii sports minded? Back by popular demand, we are offering ‘Wii Twilight’. Join us for bowling and/or other Wii sports on Friday, July 16, from 8-10pm. It will be both friendly and competitive. The regular Friday morning Wii crowd is looking for some night-life as well as some newcomers. Don’t hesitate to try it out, and don’t hesitate to sign up early as it is required.

Super interested in writing? On Thursday, July 15, at 6:30pm we'll make mini-zines. It's liquid lit night and we hope you’ll register to join us! On Thursday, July 22, at 6:30pm we’ll play with sidewalk chalk (or markers if it rains) and have root beer floats. MAKE WAVES teen summer readers, register and attend either of these programs, and you'll receive a raffle ticket toward the summer reading prize jar.

Super hot? Then you will want to try ‘Super Cold!’ Amazing things happen when matter changes temperature! With the help of a Museum of Science educator and an intensely cold liquid, we will experience the remarkable changes of size, form, and behaviors that occur when a variety of objects and substances are SUPER-COOLED. This program is suited for children ages 7 and up and will take place on Monday, July 19, at 6:30pm. This is part of the summer reading program ‘Make A Splash-READ’ and is sponsored by the Friends and the Trustees of the Kimball Library.

Super dedicated? Volunteer training is being offered on Wednesday, July 21, from 6:30-8pm. If you'd like to be part of our volunteer staff, are in at least 11th grade and need community service hours, this is your night! You'll receive training to be sure this is what you want to do. If you accept the commitment to be a volunteer, you'll get regularly scheduled one hour weekly shifts, and you need to commit to serve until January 1, 2011. MAKE WAVES, register and attend, and you'll receive a raffle ticket toward the summer reading prize jar.
