Kimball Library News 3/19/13

Don’t be caught without a museum pass the week of your child’s vacation.  It’s worth planning ahead for a little culture and playtime, and vacation week is a popular interval for our museum passes to fly out the door.  Our savvy patrons who read the paper get a jumpstart on the rush.  Any active Kimball Library card-holder can have access to the following passes if they are reserved in time—Currier Museum of Art, Imajine That, SEE Science Center, Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Science, Peabody Essex Museum, Seacoast Science Center, and Zoo New England. It couldn’t be easier to have a discounted or free day out, depending on the museum of your choice.  Passes may be reserved online, on our website, or you may call and ask us to reserve them for you.  Make plans today.

The Atkinson Garden Club is hosting a meeting at the library that is open to the public on Wednesday, April 3rd, from 6:30-8pm.  ‘Bees and Beekeeping’ will be the topic of interest.  Barbara Lawler, an apiarist in Bow, NH, and current vice president of the Capital Area Beekeepers Association will use PowerPoint to explain the art of beekeeping and its environmental benefits.  Ms. Lawler teaches beekeeping throughout the state of NH.  This program is in support of the NGC President's Project - Making a Difference.  This is an open meeting.  Refreshments will be available starting at 6pm, and the program begins at 6:30.

Celebrate National Library Week and Staff Appreciation Day with us!  National Library Week is a national observance sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and includes all libraries across the country. April is the month set aside to celebrate the contributions of our nation’s libraries, librarians, and to promote library use.  Join your friends and neighbors on Wednesday, April 17th, to have refreshments and get reacquainted with all your library has to offer on our designation Staff Appreciation Day.  We appreciate our patrons and this is a good time to celebrate all of you.

Stay tuned as we have another full vacation week of events on the horizon (April 22-26).  Bookmark Wednesday, April 26th, at 6:30pm.  Curious?  Read all about it next week.  :DTop of FormBottom of Form
