Kimball Library News 8/12/13

A note of appreciation to our summer reading benevolent benefactors:

Thank you for your contributions! On behalf of the Kimball Library and the youth of our community we know how important your help has been to our 2013 ‘Dig into Reading’ (kids up to grade 5), and ‘Beneath the Surface’ (grade 6 and up) summer reading programs.

We registered over 300 collective youth for our programs, and they read thousands of minutes and well over 1200 books in six weeks. The participation at our weekly programs was so great that the demand caused us to wait-list many children. That exciting level of participation from kindergarten to teens shows us how much the youth appreciate and enjoy the variety of programs and services the library has been able to provide.

The library boomed with children’s excitement as they enjoyed the summer reading finale with ice cream, entertainment and prizes, all because of your generous gifts. It is only through the benevolence of businesses such as yours that we are able to serve the town with such high quality reading incentive programs.

We appreciated the variety of contributions.  It does take a community to raise a tremendous summer reading program.  The children, tweens, and teens were grateful and excited to receive great prizes.

Sincerely yours—the Kimball Library Youth Services Department.
