Kimball Library News 7/29/13

The summer reading programs (‘Dig Into Reading’ and ‘Beneath The Surface’) officially end as of August 8.  If you have been on vacation the last week in July or first week in August, you may come in and redeem your minutes for prizes.  All summer reading prizes, dig into reading shovels, etc will be put away by August 19^th.  Please redeem your minutes and collect your loot.  Teens need to collect their prizes before the end of August.

Start tapping your toes for more music in the courtyard!  The Timberlane Community Jazz Band will grace us with their presence on Thursday, August 15^th, starting at 6:30pm.  All ages are reminded to stop by for some lovely summer tunes right in our patio area.  We are fortunate to have the fine musicians sharing their talent with us.  Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the music!  *Call ahead or check our website in case of inclement weather.

Attention to all enrolled in summer ‘Bitty Books’ and summer ‘Kiddie Lit’ classes.  The last week of summer sessions is the week of August 4.  ‘Bitty Books’ last class is August 6, and the last ‘Kiddie Lit’ class is August 9.  Stay tuned for our fall sessions that start the week of September 1^st. 

Mother Goose summer classes are ongoing until August 19.  Our new fall session starts Monday, September 9^th, at 10:15am.  You may register for this class now.  We love having new babies and toddlers in our class.

Timberlane Regional High School teens, we are having a ‘Dear Teen Me’ TRHS All School Read discussion on Wednesday, August 21, at 6:30pm.  Come hang out and discuss ‘Dear Teen Me’ before school starts.  You know you have to read it, and you know you have an assignment due.  It will be a lot more fun to talk about it with other teens and get some ideas for your paper.  If you register and attend the discussion, we’ll get you a book to borrow.  Besides, we eat candy at these book discussions!  There is also an available ebook at the NH Downloadable Books consortium that can be borrowed for free and put on your e-reader or tablet.  Check it out!

Save this date—August 22^nd!  Go to Uno's (Haverhill/Plaistow line) anytime on August 22^nd from 11:30am to closing with the DOUGH RAI$ER coupon in hand and the Friends of the Kimball Library will get up to 20% of your total bill.  This is also good on take-out orders.  All you have to do is pick up a coupon at the Kimball Library or print one off our website and give it to the hostess when placing your order.  This is GREAT way to support all those events you love to attend at the library.  Please take care to have your coupon with you and you mention it to your server—they cannot give credit without it.  Bring your friends out to lunch or dinner with you and get even more bang for the library buck!  :)
