We
are in the gathering stages for the fall book sale that will take place on
September 28th. We accept
book donations year round, but twice a year we urge you to clear out what you
no longer want and bring them in to us. The Town-wide Yard Sale is coming
up and we’d like to have a large selection for folks to peruse and
purchase. These items take some time to be sorted through which is why we
are asking for them now. We accept books, music, and DVDs in good
condition. Please be sure books are not moldy or damaged and that music
and movies are playable the entire way through. We do not accept any
magazines, text books, encyclopedias, or Reader’s Digest condensed books.
When we receive your donation, we first sort through to see if we’d like to add
any of the items to our collection. If we don’t add the item(s) to our
collection, we then decide if it is to be sold or to be transferred to “Got
Books” or some other worthy organization. Please take care to recycle your
unwanted items by helping the environment and your local library.
Donations can be received during open hours from Monday-Friday (10-8) and
Saturday (10-3). If you have large amounts of materials, please call
ahead so we can be sure to assist you.
Please, do NOT leave them on our front bench or in the book drops.
Fall
story times are now on the calendar and are available for registration. All classes begin at the start of
September. We have 3 different opportunities
for 3 different age groups and we have 5 available time slots. If none of the time slots fit your schedule,
please let us know. If we have a minimum
of 5 interested families we are willing to open up another class if it is
agreeable with our schedules. Take a look
below at what is available. Register
early—we do have a space restriction for each class.
Fall
for ‘Mother Goose on the Loose’ every Monday at 10:30am for infants through age
2. Tiny tots with their caregivers are
invited to Miss Kathy for simple stories, rhymes, finger plays, and
songs. It’s not only good for the child, but it’s good for the adults to
meet others with young children. It’s
common to remain after the session to allow for playtime and socializing for
all ages. Playgroups and friendships are
formed. Register now—in person, on the
phone, or online.
Fall
for ‘Bitty Books’ every Tuesday at 10:15am for children ages 2-3. Toddlers with their caregivers are invited to
join Mrs. Birr for itty bitty stories, rhymes, finger plays or songs and a simple
craft. Socialization and education are
all part of this class for little ones.
Registration is now available.
Fall
for ‘Kiddie Lit’ either on Tuesdays at 11:30am, Thursdays at 10:15am, or
Fridays at 10:15am. Children are invited
to join either Mrs. Birr (Tuesday/Thursday) or Miss Celeste (Fridays) for
rhymes, reading, and activities to stimulate your child's interest in and love
of reading. Caretakers may stay and listen or relax elsewhere
in the library. Registration is
currently available for all sections—space does fill up quickly.
